I am going to be one of those annoying people and say that I respect your opinion
 
But personally, I am just happy to see a new Mass Effect game, to see gorgeous new environments, to have an idea when it is coming and to know that some trademark BioWare storytelling and characters and writing is just around the corner, all coming from people who clearly care about what they do deeply. That makes me excited. This is going to be great

*shrug* if you say so. But I saw none of that story telling, characters, or writing you mentioned. I saw hand waving and combat. Both can be found anywhere.

And frankly the fact that it'should set in Andromeda actually has me worked about the writing.
As for the rest, I could just as easily say that about Fallout 4, which has me way more excited.

I wouldn't say pointless; biggest game conference in the world where they officially announce the game and a release date. It's publicity if nothing else and has already got a few 1000 likes on YT.

Can you at least relay my fear and confirm that Andromeda will still be a third person shooter? Not an FPS.

To be fair this could a decent game but I agree with you, I won't be surprised if a lot of hand waving is used for explaining how they get to the Andromaeda galaxy.

It is just a teaser. Its purpose is to say "Hey, we are here and we have something neat for you in store." more will come. Writing-wise, Andromeda is what makes most sense from a long-term perspective. ALthough honestly, there is no way they could approach this in a way that would not leave someone unhappy. I can see the problem you have with it, I honestly can. But I can also see why they made the decisions they did and how they would work.

 

Fallout 4 does look all sorts of amazing, though. Cannot wait to play it

It's simple, Bioware basically just s*** out this game, and there is just so much s*** it propels the Normandy SR1000000 into Andromeda
