Xbox is conducting an ongoing voting system in order to pick which games get added to the Xbox ONE! Everyone go and vote for Mass Effect 2 & 3! :)

(PS. This includes all previously-purchased DLC and save games!)

https://xbox.uservoi...s-compatibility

I already voted for both, along with several other games I'd like to see become backwards compatible for use on the One.

Except we didn't. We got literally nothing but a graphical showcase with a scripted blink-and-miss-it shooting segment that might as well be a CG trailer for all the info it provides. Don't go to E3 if you have nothing to show people, E3 is to show your game to the world, your GAME. not Trailers. That's basically all EA brought to E3, stupid, worthless trailers and interviews with people that had NOTHING to do with games. That audience was DEAD from lack of interest. EA basically wasted everyones time. All EA showed was Unraveled and Battlefield with Star Wars paint. And of course EA Sports, sort of. (btw that poor Unraveled guy was dying up there. Could see him shaking in front of that dead crowd of people. Felt so bad for him).

Far as Andromeda goes, that just sounds ungrateful. If you'd prefer nothing at all continue to prefer it, but there are people that didn't even know there would be another Mass Effect who are now going to be following development. For them it was definitely not a waste of time.

Maybe yours, but its about the whole;not any one individual.

That's basically what we got, Nothing and no new information. I don't understand how you think this Trailer provided anything besides the Subtitle to the game.

The subtitle is pretty informative, though - we now know the game takes place in Andromeda. That implies a totally different story and setting to anything we saw in Shepard's trilogy. New characters, new races, new conflicts and a completely fresh slate for Montreal to create something totally new. That's huge news.

The galaxy map had dozens of places to travel to, which matches up to rumours of lots of planets

We saw the enemy faction, and that some worlds have animals and wildlife.

Combat probably has special abilities, and we saw the N7 soldier use a jetpack-jump.

That's a lot more than "nothing", and people are already discussing that stuff here.

E3 thread ate all my likes but you'd have one right now.

Would you have preferred they showed nothing and announced no information about Mass Effect at all?

Actually, yeah.  This teaser was less than helpful to me.

That's a really silly interpretation of why they did that, lol.

It's "disguising" nothing - in case you missed the enormous N7 logo and "Mass Effect Andromeda" all over the end of the trailer. The fakeout was a way of messing with the audience's expectations in a cool way, while introducing the new setting and theme of the game with a Johnny Cash song about the wild West.

You specifically said it was "disguising" in your quote.

And really, after ME3, is messing with the player on any level a good idea?

-insert tag line about trailers not being Representative of the final product- Sure, you saw a few seconds of things in a trailer. Things that most likely won't make it to the game. DAI only 6 months from Launch was a totally different game. So really I dont see the point of getting onto the Hype train already.

That would imply they ever did. It was our fault remember? We were too dumb to understand how genius it was, it was a work of art we were ungrateful about and they decided to be the "better man" and meet us "half way" with the Extended Cut. Because "SPECULATIONS FOR EVERYONE!" = genius writing, obviously.

I disliked the ending too, no argument there, but really, I think the time for judging Bioware for ME3 is over. Time to focus on the future.

If it has Mass Effect on the label, it will be judged based on ME3.  Once bitten.  Twice shy.

That wasn't really my point though. The way Iakus and some others comment on some threads in this board makes me believe they feel that Bioware should wallow in self-pity forever. Which is never a good thing in my opinion. Yes they screwed up, but they will just have to take the criticism they got for that and work with it. Maybe the new ME will end up great, maybe it won't. However I do think this franchise is going to die a very slow and painful death if this ME doesn't step up to the plate.

No, it will be judged by the enterity of the Mass Effect trilogy, which includes ME3 and its ending.

If that is how we should judge it, then i will enjoy it. The ending is bad, but the rest is aces in my book and one of my favourite franchises. Yes there is nitpicking on everything, because that is what we do. We tear it down and talk about everything we dislike. But why not celebrate what we like about these games.

I for one am stoked that they are going for a new game and leaving the Milky way behind. Mass Effect has such a rich lore that should be used, but we have to get away from the ending. Also we have to let it go personally, it has been 3 years now.

The endings has already become moot and academic. The way how Bioware sees Mass Effect is basically another cash wagon and no longer a form of art. Indeed it is an intellectual property created to bring food on the table through purchases made by consumers wherein they promise to deliver entertainment to various households. People criticizing the endings or the future of the fanchise can not be avoided since most of them has become attached to the story or characters in the span of 5 to 8 years and hand waiving it will have drastic "betrayal or emotional impacts" among them which is normal since humans and animals experience various physical and mental behaviors depending on the amount or level of stress they experience.

Since Bioware treats the next game as another property or cash wagon then I too will treat it that way and not as a form of art.

Those who hates this post due to my right of speech  may strategically place their wonderful lips upon my posterior and kiss it repeatedly

Well aware of how some of the forum's negative quotient twisted BioWare's words and attitudes like a pretzel to fit their agenda.
