- What powers/species/weapons might return from the original trilogy
- Would not comment on any details or speculations beyond what we got in the trailer

Since the last bit I heard about 1313 involved them ditching the original character in favor of shoehorning in Boba Fett, I kind of doubt it. In all honesty, I would want to play as Han Solo about as much as I want to play as Boba Fett. I like them both, but I've had enough hackneyed callbacks to the original trilogy. I want some interesting new characters.
Past Uncharted, Amy Hennig is also responsible for the Soul Reaver games in the Legacy of Kain series. She's one of the best writers in the business, hands down. She's wasted on trite fanservice.
I can't speak for specific writers, as I only know of a couple. My thinking, though, is it has to do with the SW rights being sold. They're going with much more "interesting" characters, now that George Lucas' hands are off of them.

Urhm, why exactly the gaming world got excited about that? It was a CGI/in-engine scripted trailer that didn't even hint at core gameplay vision of the game. Nothing really to say about story either so I'm puzzled why people hope so much it's continued. Based on a trailer like that the game could literally be everything and anything, nothing concrete

It was supposed to be a look into the world of crime, the dark underground of Coruscant - with a gritty and mature feel to it. And it looked cool. Even just based on that gameplay demo that we saw (not sure what you mean about there just being a CGI trailer as I've seen a gameplay demo) it seemed like a great triple A Star Wars gaming experience... and people have been missing some Star Wars gaming glory akin to that in a while.
