This Legion cosplayer had a webcam on his back projecting video to his front to give the illusion of the hole through his heart.

Gah..
I am jealous. Of course anything this early on is most likely going to change or evolve, right?

That's not fair.
They should show it to the public. You know, so they can get a better gauge on fan feedback and thoughts. ![]()

Actually, if you listen to any senior game developer or producer, it gets harder and harder to change things as they move along. I'm hoping that thing are set in stone, for the most part. At that's my fervent prayer.
Come on holidays 2016.

That's a huge risk in my opinion, I mean someone is going to break

I hope so. I could use some good news that a leak would hopefully provide.
But that's why I said they should be public. No need to worry about it being leaked then.

Capped off the week by completing a feature for Mass Effect that should hopefully benefit the whole team 'til ship and beyond! #productivity

I'm going to check out the Mass Effect Reddit for the next couple of days and hope that someone leaks a little bit of info. ![]()

Maybe not if they signed a pretty hefty NDA.

Probably not as much as you think. At this point, all the major details and directions for the game are locked down. If they showed them a mission for example, it could be that the mission they see won't be part of the game, but certainly the art style, the feel of the gameplay and some basic story and character details aren't likely to change.
As a fair comparison, think of what we got at E3 2006 as a teaser for Mass Effect 1 as what people now are seeing for Mass Effect Andromeda. Even though the aesthetics and HUD of the game were greatly upgraded, the core concept of the game didn't change. You had the dialogue system, a location from the final game, the basics of combat and the important story background that don't change from this teaser to ME1.

Though I have to say this preview for fans at the San Diego Comic Con does kind of make me sad I didn't get to see anything at the Montreal Comic-Con I went to last week, especially considering that is where the devs are from. I would have signed a million NDAs and given Bioware my BSN name, real name and beyond just so I could get a peak at Mass Effect Andromeda ![]()
Well what could Bioware do to make sure they don't speak? There is no consenquence for speaking
The consequence of people leaking information that they were told in a privileged situation is that the studio will just stop holding these sorts of things entirely, and that helps nobody.
Everybody says they want Bioware to "listen to the fans", and that ME3 wouldn't have turned out the way it did if they'd had hardcore Mass Effect players give feedback on the story while it was still in development, but guess what? They wouldn't even try to get that feedback if people were leaking information left right and centre. They'd never tell those fans anything interesting or new or important if it was just going to end up on reddit a day later.
Confidential focus groups serve a purpose. The studio can meet real fans of the game, show them cool stuff, and get their feedback while there's still time to change it. The more reliable those fans are, the more stuff they can tell them and - I imagine - the better the feedback becomes. Because a lot of the game is still in development, of course they don't want the content of the discussions all over the internet, especially if it includes story spoilers.
People wanting to see more leaks from these focus groups are being immature, selfish and irresponsible. The result of leaks is that Bioware becomes a more cautious company, engages less with fans, and doesn't seek feedback while the game is in development. I don't think that's what anyone wants.

And yet game companies have people they know will leak things yet give info to anyway.

Err, yah, there can be. An NDA can include anything such as monetary gains from unsold games due to your speaking. I'm not trying to say that BioWare would do anything as draconian as this, but it is possible.
And yet game companies have people they know will leak things yet give info to anyway.
It's still the fault of the people who leak things. They're adults, they signed non-disclosure agreements, and they're breaking the trust of whoever invited them to participate in that process. I have absolutely no sympathy for people who break a contract like that, in full knowledge that they had a responsibility to keep that information confidential.
Dozens if not hundreds of people did playtesting for DA Inquisition while it was in development, and barely anything from that game was leaked while it was still in development. There are reliable people out there and this stuff goes on all the time without any leaks.
I would say in the thousands. But that's just me.
