Tbh, I'm kinda confused about what new stuff BW is doing exactly. Is it new, new? Or is it that swtor mmo thing?

Given that IP stands for Intellectual Property, and I said the word 'new' and the fact you have SW in that title...

Yeah, EA/BW has the rights to this, that and the other thing these days. Hard to tell what they consider new, or property.

 

But, yay? I guess. At least it's not the mmo thing.

edit:...unless ofc it's a new mmo. which would be very disappointing to me. it's a new mmo, isn't it.

Well, Bio's done:

 

Medieval......= DA series + magic

Space Opera = Mass Effect series

New IP.........= Cyber Punk?

....................= Vampire Hunters?

....................= Demon/Monster Hunters?

....................= Mech Wars?/ Star Wars?

 

The Aug GAMESCOM will reveal the IP, I think.

If it's an MMO and I have to subscribe, they can shove it. I'm still playing Path of Exile and it's free and I can play it with a mouse too!

 

On the other hand, how can you say it's a new IP if it's Star Wars?

 

A Cyberpunk game is new (for me) different and possibly exciting.

Well, according to this article, we know two things about the new IP:

 

1. That it's completely new, built from the ground up so they could have a clean design foundation, so no Star Wars.

 

2. That it's made to tell "contemporary stories" (whatever that means), so probably no cyberpunk? (Though that would have been cool, I know Mr. Gaider is a big Shadowrun fan.)

It was introduced in the video as the new IP.

That was not from Shadow Realms, as Shadow Realms was being done by BioWare Austin. The New IP and the video mentioned were presented by Casey Hudson from Edmonton.

EA likes to chase money. I'm guessing it'll be bioware's take on something similar to Destiny.
