True but it does take a bit away from the game. For example my Shepard met up with Jack and was kissing her with his helmet still on, kind of killed the moment for me. But still I think Bioware will sort it not a big deal still.

For a company that literally markets its video games on the strength of the characters and the storytelling potential of having complex and interesting characters, I think creating them is indeed a higher priority than an animation quirk that most reasonable people wouldn't think is a big deal.

I do agree with this. ME3 had a lot of odd hitches in cutscenes and the increased customizability in helmets and toggling helmets on or off for cutscenes made for some jarring moments, whereas by the game's start they directly show Shepard taking his helmet on or off during cutscenes (because we had no customization until after that point).
I'm still standing by my idea that they should go with retractable-transforming helmets by button-presses or mandatory moments, like an Iron-man helmet. Arkham Knight did it too btw and it even works with the many downloadable costumes.

Nothing beats Tali immediately recognizing Shepard In ME2 while he was wearing the Blood Dragon armor. ![]()
Okay, maybe having a drink at the bar while wearing it... ![]()

He didn't tweet complex and interesting. He tweeted balanced characters.
Vega was neither complex or interesting... rather a moron in my view. Good thing I was able to park him out of sight and thus enjoyed the game until the rainbow ending.
Also, what you call animation "quirks" are in fact errors. Not major, I agree. Even reasonable people, however, can get irritated by them. Oh, well let's hope ME:A does better.
As to the last sentence... quite true but the nobody(s) also expect something called error free. Unless, they are OK with buying a 45K shiny new car with some "quirky" scratches on the hood. After all, everything else works as intended. I mean, what's the big deal?

I agree. There were too many jarring animation problems in ME3. I recall a couple of times when the camera would point at nothing in ME2, but several cutscenes in ME3 have bad DoF focus, eyes not looking in the proper direction, reset positions and FOV skeweredness.
I get that ME3 has more overall cutscenes than ME2 and a lot more money were spent on the high-action stuff, but as a whole ME3 feels cheaper compared to ME2 in my opinion. The terrible quest grocery list and the amount of non-cine conversations where you get impatient and run around the room in boredom while NPC talks (or Shepard shaking his arms) has something to do with the cheapness as well, I admit.

Maybe it's just me, but who remembers Combat Loss as being one of the options?
It's been a long time since I've played ME3 with a non-import Shepard. Can't say that I particularly care for it. I didn't even complete it.

IIRC, it was the "everyone dies but 2" default option if you did not port over from ME2.

If you don't import an ME2 save or complete Genesis 2, then you get the "Combat Loss" option (although I'm not sure if that's exactly the name... maybe it is, I dunno) and you get three options:
1) Kaidan died on Virmire
2) Ashley died on Virmire
3) Numerous losses.
The third option will make the Virmire survivor the opposite sex of Shepard. We've talked about it in other threads and it has absolutely no other affect in game from what anyone can tell.
It would have been cool if there was a dice roll at this point though and choosing it gave you a 50/50 chance of either Kaidan or Ash.

I took it to mean the default helmet from the trilogy, but now I'm wondering too.

Are you telling us that the devs, who are so excited to work on the most awesome Andromeda game, pull themselves away to measure the "tonnage" of food they consume? .... Most distressing.... ![]()
