I much preferr a developer diary. For example:
1. Today we explored an area of the map where we thought a potential forerunner tech staches was located. We used our Mako for fast travel. The Mako was ambushed by the enemy and our nice azzez were handed to us. Maybe we should add some stealth tech to the Mako.
2. Today we launched a scout ship to the asteroid belt gamma. Rumours suggested this belt is full of zero element resources. Heavens, our fleet needs it as we just became aware that a key decision made two cycles ago put us into this mess.
3. My team was unprepared for the heavy reinforced Khet company guarding the tech cache in the cave. I think this map has balancing issues.

I'd say they are not, not even close. They can't even build relays or ships capable of rival the reapers on single combat. And I'd say a ship capable of traveling to another galaxy is a much bigger challenge.
So we need something... I'm pretty sure I'll be let down by the story of the ark. It being built in parallel to the Crucible would be a major retcon, and how much tech can you find in ancient vaults? Alas, this will most likely be it.

We're not going to get anything with an ARKCON patch until the game arrives, any thing else would be purely advance promotional stuff for the folks/team at BW working on the game.

They said there would be 10 world premieres during the event and they've already revealed a couple. One is Far Cry Primal, another is Quantum Break, and another a DLC character reveal for Mortal Kombat. That still leaves around 7, and one of those could be Andromeda. Maybe they're just trying to keep it hidden so it'll be a big surprise.
