Oh, thanks for checking!
Maybe it's The Division? There's an Alpha on Xbox happening at the moment.

Question, is the dialogue system only exclusive to Bioware? Like if another company wanted to use a dialog system similar to Biowares' would they need permission to do so? I only ask cause a lot of their games have a dialog wheel so I was curious.

I doubt it. And I assume their patent relates to more than just the form of the thing.
As long as it's not completely identical, interrupts and all, I don't see there being any problems.
Also, Bioware are not patent trolls. I hope.
There's an alpha?
They never even mentioned being in pre-alpha (though I think we all assumed that's where it was at least)
EDIT:
@BioFanOfficial pretty sure we're thinking of different games. Not a BioWare or EA title :-P
There's always about (and I'm not saying that there's a pre-defined formula for this) four stages of a game. Pre-alpha. Alpha. Beta. And release or shipped.
EDIT : Occasionally we get one added in like pre-Beta. Which means that it's about to enter beta, just gotta fix a couple'a things. EDIT x 2 : And actually any piece of software.
Please, for the Love of God, no more Banter Bugs...
Those hours of silence in DA:I unnerved me.
Banter in DAI worked very different than banter ever has in ME or earlier DA titles. In ME banter has traditionally been triggered by passing a certain point on the map. (Indeed, if you read Jos's tweets, you see that is precisely what he is trying to do with this mission in MEA he is working on.) Banter in ME3 could also be triggered by lingering at certain points for longer than needed. Tuchanka is an especially interesting case where advancing too fast or too slow could result in some very interesting banter.
Here, for instance, is an example of advancing too fast. Listen to just how frustrated Eve sounds in this clip as Shepard keeps cutting off her dialogue. ![]()
Here is an example of lingering in a particular location longer than you need to. (I wonder how many people even know this dialogue exists.)

I never noticed that with Tuchanka, that's pretty cool.

Different companies have their own classifications. BioWare's pre-alpha is huge if I remember right from inquisition.

@ehlien In BioWare game development, is there anything before pre-alpha? Or is it a pretty large umbrella?@BioFanOfficial most phases fall under "pre-production" and "production". Alpha, Beta, etc are typically milestones/states within production
Just wondering when you will post the interview that was done with AWR last week
Ever wanted to ask us a question? Now is your chance: http://bit.ly/1QyPcDJ #AskBioWare

You’ve got questions, and we’ve got answers.
For our next YouTube video, we will be taking your questions, and our developers will be answering some of their favorites. We want you to have an opportunity to ask us the questions that you’ve been meaning to ask, but didn’t know how. All you have to do use the #AskBioWare hashtag in a tweet or comment on a Facebook post with your question(s).
Not sure what to ask? Here are some ideas:
What’s your favorite part about working in games? What is your favorite game of all time? Number-one tip for getting into the game industry? Pizza: Hawaiian or pepperoni?
We’ll take as many interesting questions as we can, but won’t be able to get to all of them. Here are some suggestions for increasing the likelihood of us answering your question:
We look forward to your questions!

- Keep it respectful.
- We won’t be giving away any secrets or talking about anything we haven’t already announced (i.e., we won’t be revealing new Andromeda details).
- Be creative! Questions don’t have to be focused on our games.
We look forward to your questions!
So when does this period of questions end?

Since I don't have a twitter account or facebook account, I would ask them, if they were in the Mass Effect universe, would they want to be on the ark/ship/whatever going to Andromeda?

Just wondering when you will post the interview that was done with AWR last week
Finishing up final exams this week, then finishing up the remaining parts of my Allegra Clark interview. AWR's should be out around early January, maybe late December. She was absolutely delightful, and very wonderful to work with! ![]()

I also don't have a Twit or Face account.
Questions, I have many:
1. Is Bio willing to look at an Adept/Biotic class whose main purpose is AOE control? I mean a bad azz pain giver and NOT a supporting char?
2. Is Bio willing to look at tactical AI scripting as in DA:O ?
3. Will Bio look at possible random tactical/strategic branching paths for game play replayability?
4. Is Bio willing to make Super Rare/Ultra Rare gear worth the effort and NOT for just a measily few extra points.
5. Will the Fire team, during combat, talk to each other about situational awareness?
6. Will I be able to import my character on subsequent playthroughs?
7. Will the Pathfinder make mistakes that bite in the azz down the road no matter what?
8. Will decisions actual change the game play
9. Will ther be stats on how the Pathfinder is doing vs objectives?
10. Will the cinematics scenes show the Pathfinder/team wearing the wrong armour/weapon?
11. Will there be Adult R&R?
12. Will the crew gossip? There is always gossip...
13. Will there be tensions between humans and MW races?
14. Will Bio allow for civilian sartorial customization?
15. Will I be able to customize the armour/gear of my non military squad members?
16. Will I be able to adjust the X_Y_Z camera movement? Sometimes, I find it too restrictive.
17. Is there a PAUSE button/key during combat?
18. Can we bring "loot" (ie: armour/weapons) from/to SP-MP and Vice-Versa?
19. Is Horde Mode mandatory to the success of the SP game?
20. I love co-op play. Will Bio bring it back with ME:A?
21. Is exploration just a candy fest?
22. Will Bio give me "exploration fetch quests"?
23. Will music abound in all areas?
24. Will ME:A force me to look for fuel?
25. Will there be mission planning and post mission debrief?
26. Are there file save limits (PC here)?
27. Can I name my game saves?
28. How much modding will Bio allow?
Hey guys, add questions if you have them...

Why do people act like the instructions aren't a thing? They're never going to read/respond to questions posted here, especially when half of them are asking about details for Andromeda that they haven't announced yet.

Possible he didn't see it. Can't fault the guy for that.
As a writer I'd love to learn more about the whole writing process that Bioware has. Hopefully people ask some good questions.
Well, I mean, my only question would be, "Has your interest in high fantasy RPG games and sci-fi games suffered as a result of you working on DA and ME? Seeing how the sausage is made, basically." Besides that, it would just be, "Keep up the good work!"

Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
Besides the pic said Ask Bio and I have no Twit or face account.
Also, Also, the Qs may give them ideas for the game, if not to late.
Also, I don't expect any answers but if anyone read these Qs and have a Twit account, they may ask some of them... ![]()

If I remember correctly, he dialogue wheel itself is patented, meaning nobody else can use it unless somebody consents to it (lest they find themselves neck-deep in a nasty lawsuit). As to who that somebody is, I am not too certain; often the mother company/employer contractually reserves the right to become the owner of any piece of intellectual property (including patents, utility models, trademarks, etc.) as may be created by that subsidiary/employee, so the right "owner" in this case could either be BioWare or it could be EA. The latter is not entirely out of the question, as another EA-published RPG, Kingdoms of Amalur, used a limited version of the dialogue wheel.
Hey, they said we can't ask for details on Andromeda, *not* that we couldn't ask when we're getting the details. I say Twitter should abuse the **** out of that loophole. I just need a countdown to a trailer or something BioWare. I NEED MY MASS EFFECT FIX!

Regardless of whether there are loop holes or not, bringing up Mass Effect Andromeda in this Q and A is not the point. Bioware is offering us an opportunity to get to know them more as individuals: what makes them tick, what their motivations are, and how they go about making videos games in general. I think this is a great opportunity for people who want to really understand and get to know the devs making the games.
I know personally from having met actual devs making Mass Effect Andromeda that they are all fantastic individuals. I've met people ranging from a studio director like Yanick Roy to artists and writers that make the actual content we play. I've had great conversations with all of them, and understanding their backstory in the industry and how they go about developing games is a great way to understand their mindset when it comes to developing games. And that in itself can be some valuable info as to how they are going to proceed with making Mass Effect Andromeda and future Bioware games in general.
Would you rather get some info tidbit about story and length of the game, or would it reassure you more that by talking to the devs, you find out that a good portion of them have actually played the Mass Effect trilogy as fans, and the got hired by Bioware to work on Mass Effect Andromeda? That's the kind of opportunity we can have: interact with them as people, not as info banks.
I feel like the Twitter thread already goes off topic enough as it is. Let's not twist a fun and casual Bioware Q and A with the devs into a Mass Effect Andromeda info overload request that would lead to them to being more skeptical about organizing such events in the future. And then some people complain that Bioware devs don't interact with their fans enough
