Not to put a damper on the gushing enthusiasm but let's not forget the extras, like:
1. The article was suspeciously like a paid advertorial
2. Contained lots of marketing crap... eh, I mean hype that never made it into the game. (I didn't see it).
If there is a ME:A special feature coming up in the Game Informer magazine, I will apply the hype filter, the nuance filter and other fantasies filter that, somehow, never makes it into the finished product. The DAI article is an excellent example of what to expect from Bio+GI, regarding a possible ME:A "exclusive".

PS: Happy New year to everyone
There were lots of cuts both BEFORE and AFTER that. Everything including trailers (especially), gameplay footage, etc is subject to change. It was just as valid as everything else. Everything we see outside of the physical game is an advertisement, otherwise they wouldn't do it.
They haven't confirmed their attendance. BioFan only does the conventions they are confirmed to be attending for his countdown.
Exactly. Except in the case of E3, because it is always a given, so I stick it on there.
Really hoping they go to Pax South tho!
I wouldn't count on it. The big publishers don't need Gamestop to advertise their games (and EA hates Gamestop). The last GI cover of an EA games was DA:I in September 2013 and I hope Bioware doesn't repeat the Dragon Age marketing campaign that spoiled half the game and revealed all companions.
EAs new minimalist marketing approach with late reveals and little information seems to serve them well. Fingers crossed they keep it that way.
I'll agree that toward the month before release it was a bit much, but prior to that wasn't so bad. Lots of people like to know a little about the companions, romances, plot overview, etc. A lot of it (tho i'll agree not all) is entirely optional to view before release. It does depend on the game tho. Something simple likely would need less coverage, vs an RPG needs a bit more to give people a good idea of what they're buying.
