Oh man, I just finished a game of ME2 as well. Not on Insanity, though. I wasn't feeling up to that kind of masochism challenge, but ...I was on the 3rd or 4th wave at Object Rho, my engineershep -- with assault rifle spec. Mattock  -- handling things without too much trouble, when a stupid pyro just appeared off to my right. I turned and overloaded him, and the resulting explosion erased my shields and a chunk of health, and the other guys took me out. Sigh. ...uhh, sorry to go off-topic in the twitter thread, but I read this and had to vent.

Bring on ME:A news! Yeah!

In terms of RP, I liked it.

1)Get taken down ASAP: Eh, would only work with a 'weak' Shepard (which I won't play for a while, but a 'FailShep' is surely a possibility)

2)Get taken down after a while: I did survive long enough for this, and it fits the struggle, and I got to hear Harbinger too

3)Get taken down by Rho after 5 waves: Not necessarily ideal. Maybe for the toughest Shepards that seem invincible, but my Shep was never that. He's a Vanguard that has elements of exposure (in combat and in character).

Just wanted Twitter thread to know I finished a completionist full Insanity run of ME2, all DLC. Onto ME3 and ughhhh I hope we get more substantial info about MEA soon after ;)

I never finished ME2 on Insanity, but good job! ME3 is probably the easiest on Insanity and yes I feel your pain too about MEA info.  ^_^

Yeah, I get that. Just annoyed me that, as I was moving to my right to get away from a flashbang, suddenly there's a pyro right there, and of course you gotta overload those guys. You just gotta. Forget 'mechs and shields, overload is made for exploding pyros. Ah well, I'll try again next time.

ME3 is definitely the easiest on Insanity, even if on a fresh character (no import, no NG+). I'd almost say its a 'fair Insanity' but I truly do think the AI and stats on enemies should have been tuned up at least a bit more than what we got. ME2 Insanity had so much that was cheap or even clunky to it, but I'd have to admit it was still appropriately the hardest difficulty it should have. ME3 not so much.

(ME1 was just damage sponges and one shot kills. Cheap and grindy but I'd never call ME1 a good shooter.)

I really hope we get MEA info (beyond just confirmation of rumors) in the next couple months instead of waiting for around E3. Start some of that hype up already! TELL US YOUR SECRETS.

Only disappointment I think is that I didn't survive all waves of Object Rho, but I was soooo not counting that as completionism and I already had the achievement from earlier.

I had fun making that one. Good to see that it can be a challenge.

Agree, ME2 on insanity put me on the struggle bus. That proto-Reaper fight at the end had me close to flinging the monitor out the window. Congrats on beating it!

I regard it to be the unofficial final boss of ME2 (only on Insanity and if Arrival is done as the last mission). The fights after are just part of the ending of the story. There's something really cool about Shepard on his own to Fight to Survive there, and it has an element of vulnerability that carries on into ME3 (hit and miss on implementation but still).

Still disappointed at a lack of a ME3 Harbinger boss that would have many elements a mix of the: Citadel Attack (ME1), Derelict Reaper (ME2), Suicide Mission (ME2), but I take Arrival's Object Rho as somewhat of a stand-in for that, given his taunts/proclamations.

Since I was super upgraded, in tense fighting form, and had a pretty good team (Miranda for story bit talking to TIM, Legion for funsies and I respecced to take out useless AI Hacking against Collectors), I got the Proto-Reaper on the first try.

I did die once on the platforms before the boss though.

Decided not to use the Cain since it wouldn't fit RP-wise. Maybe I will use it, like mentioned before, for a super tough and awesome Shepard.

New IP related.

Cameron Lee @Cameron__Lee

It's only taken about 6 months but we're "almost" settled on the name for BioWare's new IP #GameDevChallenges

So, we will get the name or nah ?

EA isn't going at E3, so no.

They might tease it at EA Play 2016 that happens a few days before E3 though.

I think what EA's marketing plan is, or "pie in the sky" thinking, is to scoop the entirety of E3 and everybody will be talking about ME:A and their new IP.  That brings me to my second point, I can guarantee you that they will be talking about their new IP.   Possibly showing off some trailers and possibly let slip a couple'a release dates and some game play footage.  I mean, an hour is a long time to be onstage.   Imagine filling an entire day.

Now this thing is all starting to become a tad clearer.

I doubt they'll mention the new IP until Andromeda is out. Same as what they did for Inquisition and MEA.

A day is extreme period of time.  I don't think it's going to be quite as anemic as you're thinking.  I think that what they've done with SR has helped them tremendously.  But it is true that I guess we'll see.

If the game is supposed to come out in 2017, they'll almost have to announce it. A new IP needs a lot more marketing and time to create brand awareness than an established franchise.

For those of us who were wondering whether Mass Effect: Andromeda was still aiming for a Holiday 2016 release date, EA issued an update to investors saying that MEA was still on track to release ''in the back half of 2016''.

http://www.gamespot....-/1100-6434283/

EDIT: On Hrungr's correction, it's actually the back half of the 2016 *fiscal* year in which MEA should release. That spans from October 2016 to March 2017.

Whoops ... I had read about it being released in the 2016 fiscal year, but then I just read one quote saying it would be releasing in the back half of the year, which I assumed to be the year 2016.

Thanks for the correction Hrungr. It's still nice to know the game is more or less on schedule. And it gives some reassurance to some people who thought the lack of game coverage/marketing was a sign the game was having troubles and would require a major delay.

Well, that's good to hear. If it releases on time it releases on time, if it's delayed it's delayed. No matter what I'm still really looking forward to it.
