@GambleMike I'm worried... doesn't that size cap limit creativity?
@Ultrarturokno. It makes us more creative. It'll be ok ;)

Does being more creative mean that you're reusing the same stuff more often and cutting dialogues with squadmates?

Hanging out at a pool hall with all my awesome BioWare Montréal comrades. We are celebrating the Omega DLC which will be out Nov 27!

I'm guessing that means it's done

@manveerheir congrats! Wish I could be there to buy you all a drink

So most likely Omega's done? Maybe it still has to go through certification process at Sony & M$ but if they're finished with the content, then it's almost sure that Raphael wasn't recording for it, I mean, they wouldn't even manage to cut & process all voice files in the same day right?

Most likely, yes.

I'm not even sure about certification, since they gave a hard date for release, and they don't seem to do that until they're sure (maybe they were already in certification, and dealing with rejection, so they were just fixing bugs and resubmitting).

The recording isn't necessarily important for Omega, though; it's just a signal that BioWare might be thinking about continuing to include new squad content in future DLC, which makes it possible we'll see it in Omega (I started to get worried when we learned it was mostly being done by Montreal, and then the reports that we'll be playing with Aria and that turian, and now I question if there will be any squadmate content on the station even if it does become a hub afterward), even if we don't know when they would have recorded it.

But if Omega went gold the same day as Raphael was in the studio, then I don't think it was for Omega. He seems to be tweeting literally everytime he's at technicolor so I doubt he had another session earlier for Omega. In any case, I'm glad the squad will definitely return in next DLC at least

Agree on Omega being done much earlier than release though. It kinda seems to me that they timed it to avoid biggest releases and to give people who buy MET collection a bit time to finish games and then proceed to get DLCs.

yea must be for something eles, it takes time to probably send it certification (it's been a more then a couple of weeks since the ps3 version of me1 went to certification) and what not plus they have to now probably make the teaser/launch trailer

Yes, but it's possible they already recorded it when they went in last time (assuming Montreal was already working on Omega at that time, then they may have finished all the lines by then, and Ashley and Kaidan went in twice—I don't think Leviathan and the extended cut had 300 lines for anybody, definitely not for Kaidan).

I agree that this isn't for Omega, but I still think there's a chance Omega could have the squad return with new content. (I no longer expect it, but I still have a little hope.)

I doubt it. They don't seem to have shied away from conflicting releases in the past.

I bet there's a story behind it. One we'll never hear. But I did get the feeling it was supposed to come out sooner (not too much—either this week, or earlier in November).

Well, let's hope it measn Citadel DLC will come out sooner (like late January) and that it will leave room for one more SP story DLC for late March/April :D

I bet that they had the opportunity to either scramble to squeak it out before Assassin's Creed 3 and Halo 4, or take more time to get it right---and they went with the latter. Simple story.

I think we can blame the extended cut for not having omega sooner

Yes, Mike Gamble did say a while ago that the EC pushed back their DLC schedule, since they'd started planning DLC before release but had to pause it to work on something totally new and unexpected.

Imagine if BioWare had received a full release-date extension, and the EC was in the vanilla game (an extra couple of months would've covered that time, I believe).  Looking back that far is a dangerous game.

Honestly, I think we'd be on about the same schedule, though I'd be willing to bet that all the moving pieces would've had Omega out right before some rather substantial games hit shelves.  Instead, I think they're giving early-adopter gamers time to get those out of their system, before releasing presumably their most substantial, expensive DLC to date.

Lol. Without the EC there'd be no point to releasing Leviathan or Omega, because no one would plop $10 or God forbid, $15 on DLC if they still felt like there was no point in playing the game. Enough people are happy (begrudgingly or actually  happy) enough with the EC they will buy the DLC now. XD

But for $15 Omega better be able to sing, dance, and shake its booty for me. Jeeeez.

Thing is, I'd much rather pay $5, $10 or $15 for interesting vignettes of conflicts or stories in the Mass Effect universe (which I assume Omega will be), Leviathan's emphasis on the Reaper storyline just confirmed how stale that plot arc is. After the way the Reaper mythology was handled, I'd rather they just leave that side of the story alone entirely. Trying to explain the main plot further with DLC seems to be missing the point, I'd think.
