Andromeda delay confirmed.Barrett Rodych @ForgedPixels
After a crazy but ultimately successful week for the team I'm on, I'm rewarding myself by taking THE REST OF THE MONTH OFF!!! bahahaha~
Man I hope it comes out November-ish this year, but, ME2 - January release, ME3 March release. Guessing February ugh.
I keep wondering about the story. How can u get more epic than the Reapers? I guess you can't. But, somehow, they have to have high stakes...
I just read some where, Andromeda lead writer let ME, and now working with Bungie. O_o I'm... not sure what to think of that, if true...
We'd have to assume that by the time he left (which was August/September last year, it looks like) the vast majority of writing on Andromeda has already been completed. I don't think a writer leaving at this point would affect the future development of the game as much as, say, a cinematics designer or a programmer.
Whether or not Schlerf leaving has a really big impact on the future of the series depends on how big his contribution to Andromeda was, and how good the game's writing turns out to be. Since we don't know either of those things at this point, it's pretty hard to know what to think of it. Once we know more about the story and get a taste of the dialogue, it'll be more clear whether choosing him in the first place was a good decision for the game.
That being said, I do wish they'd tell us more about ME Andromeda already. So many N7 days have gone by with future promises of interviews with the developers and nothing has ever come of them...

I'm hoping it comes out around N7 day in November, if not then and if it is delayed to next year March since that will mark 5 years since ME3 came out.

i have been thinking about that too. No protagonist can be more epic than SHepard now. At least not in the same galaxy (lol)
Andromeda is far bigger than Mily Way, so theres potential to bring another super epic character. But i honestly think that Shepard's evolution in ME series is an "out of the curve" hit. It shouldn't be copied and anything inspired in him would be less epic than he was. That's the perfect scenario to focus in other things of the series, like the awesome potential to the plot, the new races, the sci-fi geek appeal, i mean, we don't need another epic character lie Shepard, at least me, i expect more Mass effect, ditto.
I believe Mass Effect has so much potential to become something bigger than star wars you know. Maybe it won't have the same budget dor the same public, but it has a beautiful story, wonderful world, music, characters, immersion, plot, wepons, action, grafhics, intellectual content, sex content, humor content. etc etc...
Its actually bigger than Star Wars in its own universe of gamers. But clearly games nowadays has surpassed movies in the sense of potentially creating a universe that attracts people and creates a huge fan base.
I wonder if Bioware will use any of the possible ending's on Mass Effect 3 as a "starting plot". I bealieve Synthesys ending was the most logically correct, since destroy would only restart the cycle until synthetics take over organics as this was already happening ages before and that's what the reapers were created in the first place. Control would only put the fate of the sinthetics and organics on the hand of Shepard, which doesn't sound too clever because he is only a human, (ok not the average joe, but still a human). He would only delay the fact that the reapers should be used to kill sinthetics which was already happening as it have happened before so many times.
So the "new solution" from the catalyst, the synthesis, is actually the best possible ending IMO because all races seek evolution and creates synthetics in order to improve their capabilities of evolving and therefore the synthesis would not only end the cycles, it would create new horizons for both AI's and organics. Peace in the galaxy, exponentially faster technological and biological evolution.
This is actually totally in coherence with all this "Transhumanism" culture that has recently ecloded in the pop culture.
Besides, synthesis ending would explain indirectly how humans get to Andromeda At All since the synthesis would create a hyper evolved neural network between organics and machines, allowing them to perfect technology in inimaginable ways.
Still, i don't believe Bioware would do such a thing as use any of the ME3 endings as a possible starting point for Andromeda...
I mean, waaaaaay back in the 1970's (or I dunno, maybe it was the 80's) a little book came out supposedly articulated by CP-30. I dunno, I read it with the internal monologue of CP-30. I can't even recall the name of the book, but it was about space and the entire new international space station. Which, at that time, I thought was gonna change the world. Looking back on it now, I can see how foolish and how idealistic I was.
It was full of scientific stuff like pressures of the earth and how space had no pressure. Also, it taught about Newton and his laws, very simply. It told me of black holes and how they could capture light, the fastest known thing in the universe. Trust me, it was very scientific to a seven year old. That was about the time that I caught the space bug. It was only years later when I heard about the international space station being abandoned that I lost most hope for space travel. Then, in my teen years, I learned how big space was. And that crippled my yearning for any kind of hope that we would ever meet any alien.
Star Wars kept my interest, but just as a space opera. ME reignited my passion for space travel and the ability to see worlds beyond this one.

I think you are right. But, without Mass Relays - can it be Mass Effect?
Lots of questions!!! Unless - there are Mass Relays in Andromeda...

Hm.. What makes a Mass Effect Game? What makes it memorable? Certainly not the relays.
I'd go for the story, the characters, the cinematics, squad combat and biotics, which is unique to this IP. Oh.... and add the pole dancing.

Relays have practically been the logo for the game.
It would be like Dragon Age without dragons.

Either our main ship or the Arc thingy will be powered by a compact mass effect relay or perhaps ME:A could be the story of civilization repopulating itself in a new galaxy and recreating a new equivalent to mass effect relays.
I still think Andromeda will be set during the 2 years Shepard was "dead" between ME1 and ME2. That way Bio can ignore any ending and Shep can just be a codex entry.

Xd they already say the event of mass effect andromeda happen far after the end ofmass effect 3
>> at least 100 year or more so every caracters are dead
>> in another galaxy so no longer any interference between the first saga and me andromeda. You don't have to load you game because the choice of the first saga don't make any sense just so
>> the reapers are dead and the mass effect relay are destroy p
>> new story, new everthing and let s play
Yeah, MEA takes place after ME3, bioware said so in their blog.

Yeah they are iconic to the series but they weren't completely destroyed yo know? if you pick up a vid on YT, you'll see that in one of the endings in which admiral hackett speak of the aftermath, he say that the mass relays were severed or damaged, but not completely destroyed and that they coudl be repaired.
However, this doesn't mean the mass relays could lead to Andromeda...unless Garrus could make some "damn good calibrations on them" lol

Good point. I think Mass effect is memorable because of emotions. It has so many cool features, but they alone can't make it for so long. The good and bad moments, the crew, the jokes, the losses, the new partners, dnew adventures, you actually build a virtual life with them all withing the series. In the "Citadel" DLC which i dhave played just a while ago, its incredible to see how good Bioware can be at creating these nice and cool moments in the game. It makes a difference.
And we couldn't forget about the Shepard's little dancings lol that is preety cheap. That party on the apartment was something really cool. It added so much to the relatinoships between the crewmates that i felt this was really needed. Like the calm before the storm.

100 years? ive been seeing articles talking about "year" after, but none said how many years after , specifically.
It could be 3, or 100, or thousand years later...
Anyways, they could revive shepard like cerberus dis, or create a clone like they did before in the DLC, both of which is unlikely to happen.
But i must admit, i would love to be possible to actualyl import Mass Effect 3's save files so we could have some stuff remembered. Maybe wepons Shepard used, or the actual state of the galaxy (synthesis, control or Destroy), or some sort of consequences of the choices you made in the series through dialogues or memories....
It will be really difficult to create a new protagonist to match Shepard.
I don't need mass relays for a Mass Effect game. Squad, biotics, tech power and story is what makes it Mass Effect. Oh and the omni-tool of course.
Yeah, MEA takes place after ME3, bioware said so in their blog.
I have a hunch the intro of the game will show us leaving during the events of ME3 though, and then time skip showing some sort of progression since the arc arrived in Andromeda to the point where there's some established settlements.
Andromeda definitely does not take place during the two year period Shepard is dead. However, it seems quite likely that the ARK departs for the Andromeda galaxy before ME3 begins. By the time the ARK finally reaches Andromeda, a hundred or more years would have passed since the events of ME3 with no impact on MEA. Without a doubt, BioWare is going to avoid the ME3 ending any way it can.
Ran into fans at #UniversalOrlando that loved my #MEAndromeda shirt and r looking forward to the game. We r doing our best to make it great!
