I just hope that the coming game doesn't suck. It will be dissapointing if they didn't do this right.
And here i was just sitting, thinking everyone was rooting for the game to be bad, i guess i stand corrected... *sigh*

Actually, it could very well take place in the two years that Shep's dead. If you take a look at any big thing that shook all of our lives, then you will start to see that it shook some of us awake. The attack on the citadel in ME1 could have been that force.
Heeeeeey, speculation! AyyyyyYY!
God blast it BioWare, give us some news so I can get this damn song out of my head.

Sorry if you thought I meant that way but they did messed up the ending, they screwed the import system when they released the trilogy, and milking more money by making DLCs and weapon packs instead of installing them with the trilogy. It's hard for me to give them the benefit of the doubt because it's just seems to me that they want to just make the game fast and cheap and ship it out, instead of taking their time making the game. But we'll see what they have to offer. And here i was just sitting, thinking everyone was rooting for the game to be bad, i guess i stand corrected... *sigh*

Yeah, they're totally rushing it. That's why they will have worked on it for at least four years when it ships. ![]()

This time they should not make the game so cheaply made like a B-rated movie with crappy animations and gameplay that looks half-assed.Yeah, they're totally rushing it. That's why they will have worked on it for at least four years when it ships.

I have a hunch the intro of the game will show us leaving during the events of ME3 though, and then time skip showing some sort of progression since the arc arrived in Andromeda to the point where there's some established settlements.
Andromeda definitely does not take place during the two year period Shepard is dead. However, it seems quite likely that the ARK departs for the Andromeda galaxy before ME3 begins. By the time the ARK finally reaches Andromeda, a hundred or more years would have passed since the events of ME3 with no impact on MEA. Without a doubt, BioWare is going to avoid the ME3 ending any way it can.
Hey guys, i found this old but gold vid and thought it would be kind to share with you guys: It shows a simulated trip between Earth and Andromeda. The video mas made using the "space engine" which can recreate the universe in a real scale. With this video i believe people can have a glimpse of how far it actually is. Like in star wars movie: in a galaxy far far away.... lol The trip puts you in an astounding speed of 1.09 kpc/sec (kiloparsecs/second) which can translate to roughly 12.792.240 light-years per hour but there are times in which the speed is just a fraction of that. This means that in 1 hour of video it has travelled all the 2.54 ± 0.11 Mly (millions of light years) that separates us from it. Enjoy! The song that plays is "My Ty SHe" from Klaus Shulze.
With that said, i believe that the game couldn't be taking part between Mass Effect 2 and 3 or whatever time frame similar to that because even with faster than light travel this trip would take millions of years as we can see on the video.
Unless "faster than light" can be REALLY faster than light, like millions of times faster than light and despite the game tells us that its possible to travel faster than light, we don't have a clue on "how mush faster"?
But maybe with the technologic advances they could have used the element zero and mass effect fields apprimorated so that they can bend space-time or use wormholes to travel huge distances like that. Or even created some kind of super intergalactic mass relay.

Why go faster when you can cut the distance short?

they spent that much time making inquisition, and that felt kind of cheap and rushed. (though i have to remember to go easy on em... as they were working with a new engine after all, then again they also told us the pc version wouldn't be a cheap port)

Why would they not be working on things? They are employees of a company and today isn't a holiday or weekend.
Well, I mean....I know they are working on things. It's just with the lack of any official info, I tend to grasp at straws and hold onto teeny bits of information from twitter like a clingy ex-girlfriend.

Nice. So as the human faster ships can reach 50x the speed of light, this trip would take 50.800 years....phew!
Why go faster when you can cut the distance short?
Yeah thats the only real possibility, but how exactly do that?
Is there any indication of space-time warping or something like that on the series yet? They had good backup info on how to do FTL travels using mass effect fields but nothing about warping space-time to travel so far.
Actually, even traveling at 50x speed of light, a single trip through the milky way's diameter would take around 2,400 years...so the mass relays technology is the only thing that could actually work for intergallactic travels.....just need to find or build one that leads to andromeda.
If reapers are the ones who built them, then the best chance to achieve this is with the "Synthesis" ending in Mass Effect 3, in which we could possibly learn all the stuff behind mass relays construction.

The sad thing about this whole FTL concept is that according to Kip Thorne I think it's theoretically impossible and when making Interstellar he had to persuade Nolan to cut a scene he had planned where they used FTL because it would not make sense.

Bio may very well be working on the DLCs, a possible reason for the potential Mar 2017 game release. These will be cut from the "main game" and sold to us at a later date.

Some DLC is worked on before release, but it's generally something they already cut from the game for other reasons and retrieved from the cutting room floor and repurposed when the time came to make DLC plans, like Shale.Ugh, enough with this. That's not how DLC works and you know it.

Putting your head on the sand doesn't make it go away.
Why don't you goolgle day0 dlc for the dragon age series and what Mike Laidlaw had to say about it before showing everyone your extensive knowledge on how a game project is made? You do remember, I hope, the debacle, about DLC already on the physical media when you bought the game, but had to be unlocked via paid codes?.... look it up.

I don't have to look any of those things up because, as a responsible human adult, I already became informed on the issues you mentioned before opening my mouth. That saves me from being tempted to skim headlines, use hearsay and my own imagination to fill in details, and then make senseless accusations about things I know nothing about in order get people on a forum to pay attention to me.
