Gameplay and story detail are what i'm most interested in seeing. They'd have to start advertising spring through summer at least even if the game is delayed. It'd be less than 6 months away form holiday shopping time, and a little less than a year away from the end of fiscal year 2017 (AKA march).

I was looking at games coming out this year. For PS4 and Xbox1 at least, from August 23rd to December 31. There's nothing, just 3-4 months of nothing. I have hope that Mass Effect with get a Nov or December release. Or next March, MEA would be a St. Patrick's day gift ^^

Thinking that E3 will help fill those gaps.

I'd expect something at E3. Nothing elaborate, (a game preview magazine article? or gosh, the reveal of a new alien race? more details of the Khet?) especially if 2017 is the target date. This won't reveal any MW galaxy races and avoid the inevitable shyte storm of "where is my favorite Turian in ME:A?" Actually some concept art of the Khet isn't a bad idea. You can't really heavily criticize a new alien species already shown in the first trailer.
The summer months of 2016 is all about EA"s sports titles, as confirmed by Andrew Wilson.. These will be heavily promoted, followed by Battlefield in the 2016 year end holiday season (ie: Q3 of fiscal year 2017).
When did DA:I marketing start in earnest? Five months before game launch? It would be interesting to map out the dates of DA:I marketing, from magazine articles, interviews (video and reported), trailers... etc. Then we could overlay that info for ME:A

According to Shinobi EA's doing an Andromeda info blowout at their EA show which will take place around the same time as E3. So yeah, just gotta buckle in until then!

I was thinking that after Bethesda's show last year they pulled a meeting together right afterward and said, "Hey. This is good stuff. We should withhold all info until E3 next year, do our own show, and it'll be a hype-a-palooza!"

Yep. And they certainly have enough interesting games for it this year, unlike last year's lackluster E3 show.

Yes we'll be able to trade in the troll threads for even more threads complaining about EA/Bio/I-wanted-this-but-they put-in-that/they-aren't-making-the-game-exactly-how-I-wanted-it/there's-this-other-game-that's-better/it's-not-exactly-the-same-as-ME1/pre-order cancelled

I hope ME:A at least gets a more tasteful info-blowout that ME3's "THIS IS ALL-OUT GALACTIC WAR, COME HERE ALL COD FANS! THIS IS ALL ABOUT COMBAT AND SHOOTING, FORGET ABOUT DIALOGUE, FORGET ABOUT ME1 & 2, THIS IS THE PLACE TO START!"
But I digress. At least David "Awesome-button" Silverman is gone.

That's something that's always bothered me about the trilogy. I played the trilogy. Each game was "the best place to start" naturally, because they want to sell a game that will be fun for people and not sell a game that people can't play until they play the previous games.
The codex really drew me into the universe in ME1. A lot of the entries in ME2 and 3 just seemed like reworded entries from the first game, or were the same entry. So like.. I just got used to skipping codex entries in 2 and 3 or wouldn't even check which had the effect of not drawing me into the universe. I dunno, I know why they have to attract new players to their latest game and that they have to "catch players up". But it always felt like if you were coming from the previous game(s) that you spent half the game figuring out what the threat was, or the history of the series which you already knew. It felt like a wasted opportunity.
Just my opinion.

It really wasn't the best place to start with each game, though. Not unless you started with ME1. ME1 was a slog to play through unless you really wanted to know about what happened with the story, once ME2 and 3 were out. The inventory system took care of that. ME2 and 3 were light years ahead of ME1, simply on the inventory system alone. Maybe they went backwards in every other way, but maybe they needed to. Some places, they didn't need to. With say, customizing your weapons, customizing your companions' armor. I dunno, it's been a while since I've played through the series. So this is all IMO as well.

I just wanted to echo Rahmiel - I loved the Codex entries from ME1 most. Of course, everything was new there so it's hard to top that fact. But I found myself listening even to the main Codex entries much less in ME2 and ME3, than ME1. Would be great to capture that newness and shininess again in ME:A.
Also, I hope they got the same voice guy to read them.
p.s. Story-wise - how can u top the Reaper threat? Ugh. you just can't. so, not sure how they can have High Stakes in ME:A.

I can see them doing that, I really liked Bethesda's show so hopefully EA's is a little more interesting this year.

Idk, with EA3/EA Play it's go big or go home usually. I'd expect more than just a trailer from them. And them Gamescom (which is confirmed) is not long after.
Khet still is not a confirmed thing. Nothing but a few (easily guessed) plot components from the original "survey leak"
have actual evidence for being true. Once one of the named characters or races is confirmed, then you're golden. But until then....
DAI picked up hevily a year prior, then was pretty much blasting like crazy 6 months prior. 3 months prior I pretty much gave up, there was too much out every single day to cover and keep up with. Tho bits of news were much more frequent and spread out than Andromeda has been.

This. I get that Silverman was just doing his job trying to expand the audience, but the DA2 and ME3 marketing was pretty cringeworthy.
