I'm so gutted about the delay... I can't be all zen about it  :(

He's not. He's working on Andromeda and then moving on to Austin's new IP after. A lot of BioWare staff moves around projects these days depending on what is being released. There aren't really set teams anymore.

How do you know this?

EA confirms Mass Effect Andromeda will be out in Q1 2017 (via NeoGAF)

EA's CFO:

Should we bombard BioWare's Twitter feed to see if they will confirm the delay?

Hey guys, i found this old but gold vid and thought it would be kind to share with you guys: https://www.youtube....h?v=V3L_IegJRns It shows a simulated trip between Earth and Andromeda. The video mas made using the "space engine" which can recreate the universe in a real scale. With this video i believe people can have a glimpse of how far it actually is. Like in star wars movie: in a galaxy far far away.... lol The trip puts you in an astounding speed of 1.09 kpc/sec (kiloparsecs/second) which can translate to roughly 12.792.240 light-years per hour but there are times in which the speed is just a fraction of that. This means that in 1 hour of video it has travelled all the 2.54 ± 0.11 Mly (millions of light years) that separates us from it. Enjoy! The song that plays is "My Ty SHe" from Klaus Shulze.

that video is friggin awesome!

just gotta love that nothing moves at all and you're basically looking at a static image up until the camera reaches 10 million times the speed of light .

If it means superior mechanics or animations or whatever this guy does I'm all for it, but the last thing I would do to a Bioware game was force the design-principles of a Naughty Dog game on it... oh wait... Mass Effect 3 exists.

Now I am assured that ME:A will not suck!

Heavily disappointed, even with DAI's delay the game turned out to be slightly above average. Not sure about this.

It's not a delay, It's a release window. We heard a few weeks ago that it would be late in the fiscal year, and that goes until the end of March every year.

No doubt they won't say anything until EA play and give us a firmer release date then.

Pretty sure the person you quoted is referring to the trailer that stated at the end "Holiday 2016".  Now, that wasn't a release date, but a release window.. so.. semantics being what they are, can you really say the game was delayed?  Or simply that the release window slipped back.

All in all, no matter what bioware said about any potential release date, or window.. I expected this game to be delayed.  I also don't believe it'll be better or worse.  Just exactly what they intend to release.  And I'm praying I'll love it.

What would that accomplish? They're under NDAs, so they wouldn't be able to say anything until the date is officially announced. If anything, it would annoy them and make them tweet less.

Heavily disappointed, even with DAI's delay the game turned out to be slightly above average. Not sure about this.

But even Bioware themselves admitted DA:I deviated strongly from their initial vision and though they did not admit Last-gen versions were a bottleneck, well... it IS, and you can feel when playing DA:I how haphazard and chopped up it is with constant time-skips when you start missions and in how basic the over-world design is with the fetchy quests and stuff. Gaider left as you probably know and recently admitted that DA:I was twice the game we got at some point during its development but had to be cut down for numerous reasons. (which I assume was the massive ram-limitations on last-gen).

Andromeda will after all be next-gen and not be as strongly hampered as DA:I was by technical limitations and honestly, the Dragon Age team was always below the Mass Effect teams in terms of technical aspects. Compare DA2 to ME3. That's the same gap I hope from DA:I to ME:A technically.

Well, cutting off support and DLC for lastgen consoles after JoH kinda made that abundantly obvious.

That's our armor. Regardless if the guy from the trailer is the protagonist, the armor is the same, or at least extremely similar.

Where does it say it's the protagonist? The link just says Pathfinder model. It doesn't look like the armor Bioware showed in 2014 that they said was us. Similar, but not the same. Meanwhile it's identical to a person we know isn't the protagonist, thus it's only logical that our mystery man is a/the pathfinder.

This is the player's hero:

Also, where did Bioware say the guy from the trailer is not the protagonist?
