I wonder when they'll start selling tickets.

I hope it's soon. Hopefully I can get a ticket and go.

I know it's supposed to be more public-oriented. E3 is often (from what I hear) considered to be press-oriented because tickets are so pricey unless you have a press pass.
It was an... eventful day in #space today... Hey @jharacampbell, I may have something to show you tomorrow. Whoosh!

It's a pity that Bio refuses (so far) to show us some developer diaries about Mass Effect Andromeda. I suspect that combat mechanics are more long range and a motion capture video would be less interesting (if impossible) than sword fighting as in DA:I. Perhaps another reason is that motion capture of the team members walking or running isn't very exciting either. Maybe pole dancing?
Of interest is the Hellblade Dev Diary link below. It talks about camera control and shows us the steps of motion capture and its translation into the game. More important (to me) is that motion capture of a combat mechanic idea was shown to be limiting and had to be changed. It also shows the type of professionals hired to perform the motion capture and you will be surprised that one of them was in a Star Wars movie.
Here is the link: https://youtu.be/xRMdJtwLins
If only Bio was so forthcoming.

Surely people will not shell out hard earned cash to buy a ticket to EA PLAY only to have EA market their games to you?

Happens with any new hot toy or special item. Just look at Nintendo's amiibos.
At the risk of sounding like the Grinch, when they started doing this Ask Bioware stuff I thought it might be an interesting look behind the scenes of the studio and how they make games. Instead it's kind of just a collection of whimsical/funny/endearing questions and answers? Don't get me wrong, there's definitely a place for that, but I'd also like to know more about the company's history and culture, that sort of thing.
I get that the marketing team decides when they can start talking about "serious" stuff, but it'd also be cool to have some Bioware-produced videos about their older (or current?) projects, sort of like what Bungie does with ViDocs or what BW devs do on convention panels. It'd just be nice to have more of that content produced by the studio itself (where they can sit down with the people who made things and talk about it for ages), rather than having to track down a developer panel at a convention that might not even be recorded.
Even more regular Twitch streams would be good. I'd sit down and watch devs talk about the development of the ME trilogy (or any of the DA games, or even Jade Empire or KoTOR) any day.
This would be nice. That would be more interesting to me. I'm a gamer. You're game devs. Let's talk games. Like you said, convention-esque Q&A's about past and current games.
I suspect they're nervous about Big Bad ME3 Questions. But I mean...don't be a...well, don't be a coward about it. If there is an uncomfortable question that arises, just answer it as best you can--tactfully, ofc. But with honesty and real introspection. It's the blatant avoidance of it that makes it all so weird, and frankly, more obvious. And really I think there would be more questions about DAI since it's the most current game from BW.
Regardless, I would like to see more Q&A about the games themselves; why they took certain approaches to things; what surprised them; what they expected vs how fans interpreted things; what features were a complete pain in the azz to implement; all that good stuff.
