Just a heads-up: the new Battlefield is supposedly called "Battlefield 1", and is set in an alternate-history WWI, which doesn't match up with the ~leaked~ EA Play stage show schedule at all.

Makes me kind of regret getting my GTX 970 back in August. Oh well. It still maxes out every game at 1080p, so no complaints on my part. Glad to see NVIDIA is pushing the envelope and not taking it easy. Guess this sort of a response to the PS4 Neo / Xbox One Upgraded consoles everyone is talking about. PC graphics have just gotten so far ahead that consoles were forced to step up in order to keep up.

Makes me kind of regret getting my GTX 970 back in August. Oh well. It still maxes out every game at 1080p, so no complaints on my part. Glad to see NVIDIA is pushing the envelope and not taking it easy. Guess this sort of a response to the PS4 Neo / Xbox One Upgraded consoles everyone is talking about. PC graphics have just gotten so far ahead that consoles were forced to step up in order to keep up. 

 

My brothers bought the same (I think) and said the same thing - they're running maxed out at 1080p and so they're fine for a couple years yet. I'm running 2x 680s SLI and was waiting for a worthy (single card) upgrade. I'm running 1440p + 2nd monitor so a 1080 should cover me for a while...

I'm waiting for the 14nm FINFET Polaris 10 Radeon GPU with similar specs but at $349US. Also coming mid 2016.

In VR and only in certain games and certain borderline settings. The 1080 will probably only be 20% faster than the 980ti.

 

Wait for real benchmarks and AMDs cards. Computex is in less than 4 weeks.

I kind of agree with Additctress. I can take the song in small doses, but ever since Wayne's World hit, it has just been blasted through the stratosphere and taken on a life of its own.

Er... It was a massive worldwide hit in the seventies, and possibly Queen's most famous song. This is a band who sold out stadia across the globe. Its presence in Wayne's World merely reflects that fact.

Yeah, since MEA looks to be pushed into next year my plan was to wait until Cyber Monday/Boxing Day so we'll know what both their offerings are like. If AMD can compete, all the better!

I always played ME on PC, but I'm entertaining getting a PSNeo rather than upgrading my graphics this time, since it'll be the start of a new trilogy (hopefully). Aw who am I kidding? Mods are too fun. $600 will be worth it right? RIGHT?! *whimpers*
