I got more annoyed at how generic it was and just how average it is.
Hehe, funny. That's one of the reasons I never bother with DAO anymore.
As for DA2, not right now. Not since my computer is being fixed but once I get it back I plan on another playthrough. I have bought MotA and look forward to try it out.

I was planning on finishing my newest DA:O playthrough before starting DA2 again (in fact I have 2 DA:O games on the go) but I just couldn't be arsed. I think some of the DA:O quests are too long, I always get bored in the circle of magi and the deep roads. Where as in DA2 the quests are short and don't overstay their welcome.

I started a new playthrough recently. After playing ME3 its nice to play something more light hearted. The banter in DA2 is excellent, I thought DA:O was funny but DA2 is hilarious. I'm very much enjoying replaying DA2. Its my first nightmare playthrough, I'm finding it a lot more challenging than insanity on Mass Effect which is nice.

IMHO, I think the Circle part is ruined because you have to fight through the tower and then automatically get thrown into the Fade. The Fade would probably be painful regardless, but without a good "break" between the two, it's just downright awful. The Deep Roads could have been helped by living it up with more dwarves and dwarven settlements. Kind of like being able to visit villages in classic RPGs while searching the wilderness. Instead it was one grey monster cave after another.
And, no, I am NOT saying DA2 level design is done better. *Shudder.* Just saying "bad and over quickly" is better than "boring and prolonged."

After not playing for so long you do wonder why you hated it so much, and then when you start it up it's like "THAT'S WHY!"

The Deep Roads have actualy grown on me over the years it is now one of my favorite parts of DAO. However the circle tower is easily my least favorite part of the game and that is because of the fade (the rest of the tower is actualy pretty good but the fade ruins that part of the game)

Yeah I play DA2 occasionally. I pretty much always play Sarcastic Femhawk though, its makes the game more amusing.
Yeah i would usually play a sarcastic Hawke but i would get annoyed that would couldnt pick every line for them and they would say stuff that wasnt the line. And we couldnt pick more than one voice. Or at least have a silent option.

I finished a sixth run of Origins last night, and as soon as I finish Awakening + Witch Hunt I plan on starting a sixth run of DA2. Even though I think Origins is a better game overall, I have to say that I have more fun playing DA2 and look forward to new playthroughs of it more than Origins.
This is exactly what I am doing and how I feel about both games too.

Since I'm also done with DAO for the forseeable future, I have had to find other BioWare RPGs to occupy me.

I miss my fiery Dalish elf rogue though. even though some people say the Dalish Origin isn't one of the best I loved every minute of it. In the begining me and my buddy were just two young elves getting into trouble...
"what's the that mirror there?"
"lets touch it and find out"
"YEAH!"
"I don't feel so good"
Being new to the whole world it felt right that my character also hadn't been around and I could be exploritive. It was also fun defending the underdogs; Telling King Calin, "you're no king of mine, human overlord" Is still one of my favorite lines of the DA series. For some reason, i just like playing as the oppressed race in these kind of games and then making the oppressors eat their words when I save them and prove that I'm a better person. I know it was scripted but I like to think I was doing the world a favor and changing the worlds views of my people.
I just hope that in DA3 you can be Dalish again.
