When you meet up with Matriarch Aethyta again on the Citadel, the sparring match makes it sound like it's meant for a Liaramancer shepard.  However... neither my MaleShep nor my FemShep had any such hookup with Liara.  It also sounds so in the overheard banter between Liara and Aethyta.

Is it not supposed to?

Also... What happened to Aethyta after you crash the CerbieCoup?  I overheard the restaraunt owner saying that one fo his employees was "gunned down right there", and Aethyta's gone.  However... I also remember the asari huntress in Purgatory that you do a fetch quest for drop her name too.  What happened to her?

Concerning the coup, Aethyta is certainly alive afterward, but it's up in the air as to where she's at. That asari you mentioned does say once you've completed her quest that she has Aethyta's support on getting the asari to read those books. It's clear that she's alive, but she could be anywhere. Thessia, maybe? Or with the other Matriarchs somewhere else? Who knows.
And it does seem like the conversation with Aethyta was geared toward a romanced Liara. Even if you weren't in a relationship with her, she calls you Liara's boyfriend/girlfriend as long as you're extra nice to Liara throughout the first part of the game. The Shepard that I'm playing right now picked mostly renegade responses when talking with Liara since meeting up on Mars, and Aethyta wound up just referring to Shepard as Liara's "commander," not girlfriend.

After she said "Cerberus boyfriend" I just slammed spacebar to skip the rest of the dialogue and used a quickload. Never going to talk to her again until her dialogue gets fixed. None of my Sheps are interested in that "tentacle monster" as they're all gay and hearing "Cerberus boyfriend" just feels so awkward and wrong.

I got the same thing after being renegade with her last playthrough. I honestly prefer it and I think I will do this next time I playthough ME1 again. 

I like Aethyta a lot, she's one of my favorite Asari after Samara and Aria. I was a little disappointed she didn't appear after the coup attempt. Perhaps in this possible Omega DLC, she ends up going there?

She only calls you Liara's boyfriend/girlfriend if you take the "It's kind of you to ask" dialogue option (I think that's what the line is) during the first conversation with Liara on the Normandy, the one where she and Shepard discuss the Crucible and the state of Earth. If you don't take that option, Aethyta will only refer to you as Liara's "human commander", and you also won't be able to romance Liara later on in the game.

Wow... imposing not only an anthropocentric but a bigoted set of values on the asari?

I think Aethyta had a phrase for that, and it also used the word "anthropocentric".

I have no problem with Quarrians, Asari, Drell Hanar, Eclor, Turians, ect. Hell, I love Aethyta. She along with T'loak are in the top 5 best characters in my books. My beef is with LIARA. And that one bit of dialogue that states something that is not factual in any of my playthroughs.

The boyfriend-thing is a bug, likely looking at the wrong plot flag that may also be flagged for those who didn't start a romance with her. Also, she seeing Shepard being nice to Liara might make her assume that they are.

Aethyta is awesome, but I think they exaggurated her father being a Krogan in ME3. And everyone except PS3 players would find her changing skin color to be weird, as the PS3 version of ME2 actually have Aethyta look like that.

Like ME1's (Liara's renegade dialogue option, Verner quest ending, Destiny Ascensions navigator getting promoted mid-battle, etc...) or ME2's bug where Shepard gets stuck in Garrus' LM and Samara's RM. Point being, they were never fixed.

Having seen both, the non-Liara LI version is very stilted, as though they wrote it only for LI then retro'd it to fit without.

Aethyta in the leaked scripts was still on Illium (or maybe she'd moved to Thessia, anyway still in Asari area). The content that they got in ME3 with Aethyta was like everything else just throw in half @ssed

In the leaked scripts there was so much more dialogue and if Liara was Sheps LI then there was a sh!tton of more options depending on what you did it had all these long branching dialogue options and Shep could respond to them with Ren or Par and Aethyta had some great come backs, face plams, and if Shep had been too much of a Ren she'd even threaten to kill Shep if they didn't stay away and keep their hands off Liara.

Gorram you, Aethyta. I thought she was awesome until her conversation turned Liara into my LI. My Shep would rather take a one sided conversation with TIM for four hours, than talk to Liara for more than 30 seconds.
