Just saw the movie, and while it was excellent, I just have to say I hope Ridley Scott paid Bioware royalties for stealing the visual design from Mass Effect.

And if there's ever a ME movie, Charlize Theron gets my vote for FemShep.

haven't seen it but even from the trailer I immediately thought "Mass Effect"

What'd you rate it out of 5 stars?

Also Charlize Theron for femshep...... No can do, but then I should probably watch the movie first.

If they make a ME movie about Shepard, it will be a male Shepard. Sorry, but it would be. It would also most likely be CGI (Beowulf) so they use the actual VAs from the games.

You guys aren't really serious, right? Right?

If you are, you'd benefit from (re)watching Alien and Aliens for some much needed education in where most of sci-fi inspiration comes from nowadays.

Five. It's really that good. (Even though they drive Makos and wear N7 armor with bubble helmets.) It's also worth the money to see it in 3-d.

Definitely This. Lol

Like.....wtf are you people talking about? That's about.the.most backwards statement I heard in.awhile.....

Scott took absolutely nothing from Mass Effect......Mass Effect has every other major sci fi franchise to thank for it's design. Including Ridley Scott's Alien. Which Prometheus is a semi prequal to.....

Quit w.e drug it is that you are doing.....its not working out too well for you.....

As others have said, Mass Effect got its visual design from many other great scifi things, including Alien which Prometheus is an indirect prequel to. So if anything, it should be the other way around.

I most definitely hope it would be. Seeing wannabe actors trying to portray the characters would be a nightmare.

Prometheus predates ME3 in terms of development, dating back to 2000. And Scott is millions of times the artist that Hudson is.

This.

How the hell could ppl here miss it? H.R.Giger early designs as seen in Alien
was what I kept seeing in Prometheus.

No I mean here's hoping they just leave Shepard alone... Period! It would be an insult to us gamers if they did.
Make it about contact war or discovery of prothean ruins... There's enough backstory surrounding ME that they shouldn't need to re-do what they've already done.

Prometheus even has a whole "Creations rebelling against Creators" thing going on.

this isn't really anything to do with ME3,

also, Prometheus had such a ridiculous plot - honestly if you give the plot more than 15 mins of thought it makes no sense. Not to spoil it or anything but have a good hard think about just what that black stuff was, and why was it stored INSIDE the pods AND made lids of the pods, and why did it do different stuff to everyone who touched it.
etc etc etc

It WAS like Mass effect 3 in that it was over-advertised and seemed (from the trailers)to be about defending earth but in fact wasn't at all.

Prometheus was awesome and a shining example of how to make a story that creates more questions than it answers. If you want to leave the endings in your games open, Bioware, I encourage you to go see Prometheus with a note book!

Everything I have heard on a possible ME movie says it won't have Shepard in it. So it will probably be set around the contact war. If they did do a movie with Shepard thet should do a CGI one and use the same VA's imo.

I laughed when the Mako rolled up.

I was certain they were going to do some vertical cliffside climbing.

As others have said, the design of this movie was done way before Mass Effect. The movie wasn't as...err scary as people said it was. As a guy who wasn't really into the Alien series, I was left with a lot of questions. Time to go watch those movies.

Also, didn't AvP happen in Present Time? Did that break cannon or does this movie break cannon? So confused...

Movie kinda sucked, actually. Nowhere near as good as Alien or Aliens.
