Only thing I didn't like about Prometheus was the very end scene and how it broke away from Alien.

Spoilers!!!!!!

I thought that too, but this could be a completely different planet from alien.   After the proto alien finally developes its possible this alien race came back here and found it.   They were interested in bioweapons,  so after finding the alien they might have changed from the black goop,  to breeding aliens and dropping THEM on planets to coquer.

That would lead us to alien where one of those bioweapons got loose and got into the pilot.  The pilot crashes and sends out a distress signal before he dies.

It is a different plaent I believe.

Prometheus the plaent is LV-233.  The planet in Alien and Aliens is LV 246.

So maybe the planet in alien is close by.

But the whole proto alien thing just leaves it open for so much speculation.

Its possible that LV 246 is the planet that LV-233 is orbiting.    Maybe the alien we see at the end is the first queen.

How does viewers asking questions equal you thinking she's off to do what isn't what she claims?

But hey, you want to make stuff up to make yourself happy, that's your choice.

Because her statements and actions are ambiguous and not fully defined.

On purpose.

A lot of the movie is like that. I like that kind of thing, maybe some don't.

What makes her statement ambiguous? She even leaves a message claiming the same thing. So that 2 things, and her writer claiming the same thing, which is not to attack the Space Jockey's with one ship. Not only that, why would you want to believe that's what she's doing? I already pointed out how a ship can be shot down. Or taken down, like in this movie. And you want to believe she's going to be able to throw some black goo around, which will do some real damage? Especially when we humans have nukes. Which these Space Jackey's probably have as well.

Firstly, the engineers were going to kill humans 2000 years ago.  So right around the time of the roman empire.

Second, we know that that black goo was contagious through human contact.

Third, the black goo changed all life it touched.  That one worm thing was black goo + nightcrawlers.  Imagine bombing earth with that stuff.

Yeah, so how is one ship infecting an entire planet filled with super advanced aliens with super advanced technology and ships? And that's if these things only live on one planet.

So what it makes monsters. Monsters die. An infected area can be nuked. They also made this black goo. I imagine they know how to contain it, after having it for 2000 years.

1 drop of that goo diluted in alcohol infected that doctor.  There was enough of that goo to kill a planet.

...

I based my belief on the actress' performance. After what she'd been through, I just couldn't see the character going to the planet to search for answers with that payload. I remember her leaving a warning, but I don't remember her saying she was going to search for answers in that warning. Did she say that? I'm going to watch the movie again, maybe it will change my perspective.

If the ship is destroyed near the planet it could disperse the goo potentially contaminating the planet. In fact, that's probably exactly what is happing on LV-223 now that the ship is crashed. I interpretted her trip as a one way ticket.

As compared to ME3, both were rushed, both have almost non existent character development (though ME3 does far better w/ some characters), and both have ideas that far exceed their execution.

I tought I recogised the Vault security armordata:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIABAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAEALAAAAAABAAEAQAICTAEAOw%3D%3D from fall out in their space suits. Further on I liked the decors and setting especially the planets and aliens, altough I can't believe that the ship was large enough to hold all the rooms it containend you see the robot stepping into the cockpit and then a  outside view from the ship where you cleary see the cockpit part for comparison. However afther the landing it's all kind of rushed no attempts where made to acces the ships logs the robot kept pressing buttons for some reasons and then decided to poison a crew member apperently for ****s and giggles. Altough he had a rather nice scene yust before he poisenend charlie  where the robot asked if he wouldn't be insulted if the reason why the aliens made humans would be as simple as the reason humans made robots. Then he poisences Charlie because for some reason when visiting a alien of wich you only know that it likes to play with genetics you don't bring a genetic expert with you and the robot really wanted to see what the black liquid did... For some reason they did bring a botanist with them... Strange that the robot didn't offer the aliens some flowers.
Annyway I'm not impressed by the movie

You know, those aliens are really stupid. You got a black goo substance, that creates or evolves **** into monsters, and you got these things in a room full of dirt, that worms crawl in. And these spores leak just by poking them.

lesson 1-3 when entering a alien spaceship. Do not attempt to eat it, do not attempt to **** it, do not defecate in it or any other mean of baconing your territory. In practice that means 1 simply don't eat anything and also do not feed it someone else, 2 don't press any unnesecariry buttons, 3 do not take of your helmet

You obviously didn't pay attention.

The initial room with jars was sealed to preserve the contents.  Just like the body and head of the engineer.  The body was decomposing but the head in the room was preserved.

They opened the door and the jars started to "ooze" most likely because containment was broken.

Yeah, and the worms? Jars in room full of dirt?

And oh wait, you're telling me these things put jars that open based on room conditions?

Yet nothing happen in the other room David was in. You know, the other room full of jars of goo.

Most of the "A stole from B" things the younger people spout today is backwards anyway. Go watch the classics (I mean, science fiction films from pre-1990) then come back and we can discuss.... The Thing, Alien, Aliens, 2001, Star Wars ("4" I guess - 1979), even crappy Krull. The Dark Crystal too, though that's fantasy along with Lord of the Rings (that story was written back when a television was still a big, heavy wooden box with a giant glass jar that harnessed an electron gun to create images on the inside of a phosphorescent screen and could only display video in black and white). I feel bad that your parents weren't jerks like me - I made my kids read those books and watch the original films (TRON was groundbreaking when it came out - even the filming technique was revolutionary) - but at least they can have a logical and intelligent discussion on the origins of various plot and story elements.

What aspect are you not understanding? And so what if the other room was on a ship. How is the conditions on one of those ship's different? It's the same atmosphere. That ship was not sealed off. People are still breathing on that ship.

You're comparing a deadly black goo that mutates creatures into monsters with beer?

How about one is a biohazard and the other is not.

Also AvP has nothing to do with the Alien story line aside from taking Ridley's Alien.

Not true. You are forgetting Lance Henrikson's character who is Weyland. The Weyland of Weyland Industries and also the model for the Bishop series as we later learn. He is dying of cancer in AvP.
