There was fail in script, though. Some things were tried that felt hollow (I.e. ---co-pilots)

I went to watch it and it was great overall for me but I agree with many the characters were not memorable at all.

I enjoyed the film, but it just seemed that parts didn't make any damn sense or were contrived. Not a great movie, but good.

Found a pretty good website listing answers from the writers and cast for anyone interested.

Too bad none of those people were in my movie theater to tell me that while watching Prometheus. Maybe the movie shouldn't need them to explain it, and instead the movie should explain itself.

^This.
If I want someone to tell me the logic behind an event I would rather have it explained during that event rather than having to research it afterwards...

Use your brain, the amount of people giving this a bad review because of this one reason.

I used my brain, thank you very much. It was lame writing, full of plot holes and a severe lack of character motivation. There is no explanation for anything, and the viewer is supposed to look it up online? Gimmie a break.

A movie loses it's purpose when it fails to illustrate and explain a story. When you leave the theater with doubts about the most basic things it's safe to say that what you saw was a bad movie.
There are those movies who have ambiguous endings made to provoke intellectual discussion, however this was not the case with Prometheus. I'm sorry but there is no way I can sit through Prometheus and call it a good movie.

Exactly. If you want me to speculate, then you shouldn't be giving me answers in an interview. The whole point of speculation is that I have to fill in the blanks, or come up with my own interpretation, which can be seperate from the creators. The fact that they're giving answers in an interview, that aren't clarified in the movie, tells me that I'm not suppose to speculate these things they're giving away. Because I can't speculate what you're telling me as what's suppose to be a fact. It's like if I speculate that something is red, but the creators are telling me it's blue in an interview. All that tells me is that I should think it's blue, but clearly I'm not. Which is a problem. It means they didn't do a good job clarifying it. It means I'm not getting what I should be interpreting.

I enjoyed the movie, but the story was rather weak. I enjoyed it for the visuals, for Michael Fassbender, for Charlize Theron, and for the visuals. Did I already mention the visuals? They were really solid. The movie really lacked the "teeth" of Alien and the sense of impending doom of Aliens. I never felt like NewRipley was ever in real danger, I knew she was going to survive to the end, and that everyone else would die. The fact that she salvaged NewAsh was a surprise, but that was about it. I see why they're trying to position it as unrelated to Alien, but that's kind of a cheat, I think. It's too similar to Alien to exist outside of that continuity.

That's fine for you two but I can't think of a single reason to call this movie bad, apart from that one scene with the Scientist poking the Alien, but hey humans are stupid right?

Pretty great review here.

http://digitaldiggin...al-perspective/

Sorta sums up how I felt about the whole thing even though I enjoyed it. For what it was; A big budget, lacking-in-plot-or-substance kinda movie.

Made me wanna watch Aliens again because of how superior and awesome it is.
