hi all, since installing patch1.02 i have seen slow down within the game that never occured prior to this patch?  My rig is more than enough to handle this game so i don not believe it to be a hardware issue... but more a conflict with the patch. anyone else have an issue after the patch?

glad i am not the only one who gets this issue... bioware really are not to bothered about helping since the last patch fixed game bugs and not the issues regarding memory leaks and such... really sad to see a company such as bioware treat its "loyal" customers like this!!! :(

Not that I know anything about PC hardware, but if you want something to get fixed, you have to post more specifics than just saying "I have problems and my rig is swank." In the programming field, bug reports with no reproduction details get ignored, because honestly, how would anyone fix them? Bioware doesn't have your rig, so they have no way of just playing the game to see what you see.

I can confirm that Dragon Age performs significantly worse since upgrading from 1.01 to 1.02. Slow downs always occur in Ostagar and the Redcliffe night battle for me, and in seemingly random spots off and on.

The game ran smooth as butter before I patched to 1.02

Since 102 if I attempt to start a new game playing as a mage I can't get past the cuts-cene with the Rage Demon and Mouse, (in the fade) the frame rate drops to less than a frame per second, more like three seconds per frame.

My pc could run the game wonderfully before the patch, no stutters or anything.

As an elf starting off in the woods I can play through with only a few minor stutters once in a while.

I have not tested the other origins yet, but I may.

I have had a few problems with the cut scenes and their being a "delay" in get choices for me to say coming up or there being a large pause between their speeches.

I have also had party members disappearing off the cut scenes dispite being spoken to, its quite hilarous.

But none of this occurred before 1.02.

Oh is there a hotfix for rally btw yet?

I've heard of Social Site bugs that are creating unintended duplicate files. Could there possibly be similar bugs in-game causing unintended duplicate files & wasting memory & proccessing power?

Some say its the Coding do to the command of the Processor as to the fact that its set as CPU 0 and CPU 1 and others are reffering a fix that you just keep CPU 0 on but I've noticed when i do that it may drop the leak down from 100% to 60% it lags even worse for me in game so its not really a fix for this issue tho some do say it works for them.

In all honesty i thought the game worked fine before the Patch way to go Bioware for breaking a game hahahahahahahahaha

yep i have the same issue... ostogar runs slow! i cannot believe the level of incompetence with regards to the patching of a broken game. my understanding is that patches fix a broken game not make it worse? or am i totally mad?

I too have noticed a performance hit.
I am running a GTX 260 with a E6600 CPU and 4GB of RAM with Windows 7 32 bit.
My game crashes randomly only when I enter combat and Denerim is so laggy around the main market place area.

It's weird though, I get ZERO lag when I am in the Fade.

My game is really jumpy too. It's not an FPS drop but rather when I run in circles, the camera jumps and lags for fractions of a second at random intervals.

It seems like it's usually the case that patches break more than they fix. lol

Im in the same boat. At first my game ran fine. Then as Ive patched its got worse with each one.

Ive Amd Phenom quad 4GB Ram Radeon HD 4850 512mb so I shouldnt be having these problems with performance or crashes. It would be good if BW at least acknowledged the problem.

I guess im on the same boat too. Random slow downs and even freezes when it comes to switching to inventory and pausing. Which seems odd because my system has had no problems with it until 1.02.

That's odd, mine is better now with 1.02 or perhaps I'm wrong, but now going back to lothering crashes on me everytime I move quickly after the area transition.

Same here. Ive been really looking forward to SWTOR, but if this is how Bioware run things with a single player game. I can only imagine the problems with an MMO game. I love Dragon Age(when it works) but I have to admit the tech problems and BWs silence on them has really put me off.

Yeah, I've the same problem.  Keep getting a "miscofiguration" message everytime I attempt to run the game and am forced to reinstall and only patch up to 1.01.  EA support is no help either and offered only a form letter.

Game runs at 10-7fps in heavy fights.

Game needs optimized badly.

a few lock ups and memory leak in 10 minutes..

and polygons exploded after the 11th minute. maybe coz of the forced super sampling but i dont know

I agree, from what I've heard the game was released prematurely thus this.Anyways here's my contribution, I too end up with FPS drops in heavy areas and that is with a 5870 and no noticeable bottlenecking present in my system. Game needs major optimization and cooperation with both major GPU brands.

That's an interesting idea, could the game & dual core & quad core CPUs be screwing up at cooperating with each other?
