My earlier post was made before I attempted the weekend event.

Oh god, why.
Apparently Silver is now entirely populated with people who can't do Silver. I scrubbed twice in a row with two different teams.

On one of the teams, I was the only non-Infiltrator, and two of them were using the Mantis  :pinched:  Plus I was a QME, and we all had to share grenades from the useless ammo boxes on FBW.

Oh well, I got in a fair number of pizza deliveries so I think we'll all be getting that Victory Pack.

As a Silver regular, it was definitely rougher than usual this morning. Bronzers coming up to get commendation packs? Maybe this is our taste of what the Gold folks endured... our own Operation: Carry. LOL

Yeah, people who play Silver are bad people and communist, people who play Gold are Gods chosen.

My Grandfather always said "You can't judge a man by his words, you can only judge him by how he plays ME3 multiplayer."

I have additional 'handicap' starting from this weekend... Watching football (soccer for you uncivilized yanks :P) European Championships while I'm playing... Sorta distracts...

And can I say, to all players on silver + for the for the love of all that is good PLEASE USE MEDIGEL!

Sometimes you are too far away for me to revive you. Sometimes there is too many enemies between us for me to revive you. Really. 1 medigel. That's all I'm asking. Don't bleed out because no one will revive you. This is a team game, help your team out.

(yes, many of my recent random silvers have ended in failure because other players refused to use consumables)

I am a silver player for the most part, generally play with friends I have found over the last month, we can cake walk silver, joke around on the mic, one or two may try a new character or new gear, it's a fun event.

I also do a random search depending on the time of the day, Bronze/Silver/Gold is a crap shoot as we do not have any real way to tell just how good a player is or is not.

I also learned the level the character is playing does not mean that player can not carry their weight, I have seen many level 4 or 5 in silver that I think my lord they should be in gold.

Last night was frustrating, it is rare for me searching silver to see an N7 at 1,000+, do a quick check of their weapons, gosh they are at the max, should be simple, frustration was the result.

There needs to be basic training, stay in the friggin hack zone, don't be a hero and run off in wave 10 and expect us to find you, use common sense when it comes to medigel and rockets, you have them for a reason, stay out of the extraction zone until about 30 seconds +/-, if we have a character that can cloak, let them deactivate the devices and stay away from them.....it a very kind way I let new players know/be aware when we start to get into trouble, for the most part I may as well speak to a wall.

So in short, I grin and bear it, I do my job and leave after the match.

It's not all random searches, I have had some excellent games at all levels, two bad players can make your life a nightmare and can cost you the game. Let them fill the extraction zone because they are all camped there, good luck getting out when they are all down and the enemy is there to welcome you:)

I should really take a break from this game before I get brain damaged, feels like I'm starting to lose perspective on things when I get confused by reading that someone has like zero rockets Image IPB

I agree with you. I think a break, and seeing things from a different perspective, will be a good thing.

Yeah, helped them out so much since nobody has attempted reviving today that I am now out of medi-gel.

I tend to be a Silver regular and I dabble in Gold since I do not have a large friend list to play with on those games.  Been a shocking day for me being top of scores and such by signicant amount for some when I usually sit in middle of the pack.  That of the Vorcha Sentinel really agrees with me......"Kill all things!!"

I'm a silver regular and today's teams have been MUCH worse than usual. I never had any problems reaching extraction on public silver matches and yet today around 75% of the waves where I was sync killed resulted in a wipe...

A friend of mine asked me for help with the event. We set up FBWGS and suddenly a N7 3 player joins the lobby with lev 1 human vanguard.

.......1 minute of awkward silence, nobody speaks or touches keyboard

I am like "umm, let's go guys"

We reached full extraction, the guy spent most time in right place in cover, pewpewing enemies and charging at right moments.

Give them chance, guys :D

[he told me later, it was his second multiplayer match ever]

See, that I don't get.  I probably have 40+ survival packs and 40+ medigel - and I will use both in a silver + match.  I guess all of the people that bled out could have had no consumables....

Sounds like bronze players meet gold player in a silver arena.

Yeah this.

Remember that just as most of us are dropping down to silver in order to get this operation done, some people are stepping up to it.

And there's the ones the server hates. Last night I was playing silver firebase white cerberus, and one person rage quit on wave 2 cuz he kept dieng, the second rage quit on 4 cuz he hated losing to a dang phoenix adept (me). So it was down to 2 of us, my phoenix adept and I think a Kroguard. We got to wave 6 and vorcha came in. We were doing great then I got a dang server failure error. When I finally got back on I messaged them to say sorry and tell em what happened. The player with a vorcha mentioned they barely got an extraction because there were 4 phantoms and 2 atlas at the extraction and neither had rockets. And then after I joined a gold game I got that ea server failure again, this time on wave1! So I ended up quitting for the night hopefully when I am able to get on later this evening I have better luck.

This might be a shocker to some of you, but the jump between difficulties is pretty significant, not everybody has memorized the mechanics, and not everybody has full arsenals of Mark X weapons.

welcome to the real world

the player base of Gold difficulty actually knows what to do and how to play, silver is full of... well lets say I carry waves quite a lot.

also because is silver, we tend to be more lenient, I had 2 team mates with a N7 of -50 using low level characters, and I didn't mind it a single bit, yeah I had to carry them, but the match was more interesting because of that.

EDIT:

So far I had only 1 silver wipe, and it was because I was testing that silly Cerberus Van

I played a match of Silver vs. the Geth earlier today. The team was my Phoenix Vangaurd, an Asari Adept, a Female Human Infiltrator, and a Salarian Engineer. First horrible thing that happened was me discovering that the Asari did not know what a biotic explosion was. When I saw the team I was hoping that the adept and I could set up explosions with me using smash and biotic charge and them using whatever powers they had on that build. Nope. They'd stay behind cover just shooting at things with their level I Carnifex. Never saw the character use a power once. Next complaint was the fact that the Infiltrator had a 20 second cooldown time was cloak. Seriously? I'm fairly sure they equipped a heavy shotgun AND a heavy sniper rifle. So when I'm trying to tell them to cloak and go deactivate a device, they'd wait for 20 seconds at the device before cloaking and trying to deactivate it. Next up, the Salarian Engineer. This guy was swarmed with 2 Pyros, 3 Hunters, and 2 Primes. I was on the other side of the map but I could see it from where I was, although couldn't get there because I was busing meleeing and smashing close range. I kept telling him that it would be a perfect time to use a missile. Nope. The engineer bled out and died, eventually raging at us for not reviving him. Then, on the last wave, there was around 10 seconds left until extraction. That's when I saw the Engineer shoot a missile at 2 lone Geth troopers that were all the way on the other side of the map.

tl;dr This is getting ridiculous. Hopefully when the challenge ends all these bronze players will go back to where they belong.

No, silver players are not normally this bad. I play silver normally. I have played two games this weekend, and in both I had to solo most of wave 10 and had about as many points as the other three combined. They almost never used consumables, either. Content to just bleed out and let me carry the team.

I've always found that I fail more on silver than gold. I think some people are bad, and some people are just expecting it to be a lot easier than it is, so they don't really try very hard and get caught.

Well, it's only silver, so those who die probably think that the one who still lives can solo the rest of the wave so that they don't have to use consumables. I got 255 of each and have been playing gold exclusively the last couple of months, but I almost never use a medigel or survival pack because I know that in the rare occasion that I should die my teammates can finish of the rest of the wave. Maybe that's what people on silver thinks too?

They could be bronze players, but they might as well be silver players or really bad gold players. There would be now way of knowing so please keep remarks like that out of this thread. Everyone starts at bronze and advance up to silver and gold, that's just the way it is. If they want to advance and get better at the game then they should be playing silver even though they might not be ready for it yet.

On another note, I found myself wanting to explore the "lower levels" of multiplayer so I did two bronze matches this evening. I brought my Krogan Sentinel to have som fun and the first match was on Ghost against Geth. One player had like 100 points in score at the middle of way 3 and left, he was replaced by another guy after a few seconds though. At the end of the match I had 84 k in points and the second in score had 32 k, one of those guys quit in the lobby afterwards and was replaced by a new guy. Second match was against Cerberus on Giant and I ended the match with 80 k in score and the second had like 30 k in score. In the lobby the leader decided to quit.

Do players on bronze have an issue with not getting any kills and such? One guy had an N7-rating of 1300 but the others were 150 and below. This is supposed to be co-op but it really felt like they quit because they didn't get any kills during the match? Are bronze players more interested in score than co-op or what's the deal nowadays?

There are many reasons for why people are quitting. Real life committments, wanting to spend some time buying packs and changing gear, changing character, feeling they were carried, making lunch, taking a break, reading on forums... Unless someone says something over the mic, we should be careful assuming they rage quit or quit due to lack of points.

If you honestly score 20k or less, you shouldn't be in silver.

Yeah you quick to judge the low level players, i'm a silver player and have played with top score N7's and to be honest a lot of them today were crap, hopeless, stupid and above all pathetic in my book. I have played alongside low N7 and had one on my team and she was brilliant, reading this forum makes me think that some of you think your god, I don't think so.

Sorry, didn't mean for it to come off that way. All I was saying was that a lot of the more inexperienced people are playing on Silver because of the challenge and thus there's an influx in the complaining silver players about these other players. I agree, there would be no way of telling and I'll stop. Once again, I apologize.

Also, guys, I have quite a low N7 level, so it;s also poor to assume that mine is godly. I'm just a bit dissapointed in the decisions that some players are making. If you're inexperienced, read a tutorial and a couple guides, don't go into a game and rage when your teammates don't help out.

I was just thinking about what WandererRTF wrote in this thread earlier:

"Also earlier today i had 'wonderful' surprise of apparently goldmonger dropping into the same silver lobby i was in. Never had a worse game, sure we got full extraction and all but after seeing just one infiltrator running around & Reegaring/Krysaeing all the things it does not fill me with great wonder that people would quit from such a game. It is not fun, it is not even enjoyable. Instead of gold players going in full rage mode perhaps they could, you known, be team players?"

I figured that he might have spoken the truth about bronze and silver players not being team players but instead they only really have fun when they kill a lot of stuff and get even in the scoreboard?
