I've noticed a lot of misinformation floating around about this. There is no MA rating--people have been posting MA-rated stories under the M rating. FFNet is--rightfully--removing them as they aren't rated correctly. MA-rated stories haven't been allowed on FFNet at all in over a decade. The MA-rating was removed 10 years ago and all stories under it were removed at that time as well. People have just grown complacent in not having their stories removed when they don't follow the content rules. FFNet is now taking an active role in removing things that violate the rules.Severyx wrote...
EDIT: They mention that they do not allow MA rated stories, but they've kept the rating? I don't understand this. Is it negligence on their part or a trap?

I was concerned about Dark Energy when I heard about this, but I have talked to a couple of 'officials' there and fortunately, I was told they were only removing stories with explicit sexual content or hideously over-graphic violence. I was told DE does not fall under the guidelines of what is being removed and would not be touched. So...take that as you will. I am going to mirror publish on AO3 anyway just to be safe but...yeah.
