Just wondering if it would be possible for a mod to post a quick update as the the status of a patch for the 360? It would go a long way towards calming customers frustration and fears if we could get just a simple status. Like if it currently is in testing or what-not. After dealing with the Navy's version of QA for a decade I know the process can be long and complicated for any project. Thank you for your time.

When they have something substantial to report, they will. If they come on here and say "we're working on x, y and z" and Microsoft doesn't approve z and they push to a next patch, people will freak out more. Bioware generally doesn't post soft updates.

Sigh..

While I do appreciate you taking the time to post a reply, I would have appreciated it more if you had actually read the post. I did not ask what the patch was for I asked what part of the process it was at currently. I also directed the question towards a board mod. Also your information is in-correct as Bioware has replied to just such a question with their other games. Sorry if that sounds rude, but the canned responses that get posted in these forums by people who don't actually read the entire post do get a bit old.

Good luck getting an answer Grim. Last time they came in to do just that, they made a vague statement making it sound like all systems were getting a patch when it was just PC. Personally I want them to stop making excuses and start putting pressure on MS because there is no excuse for this by any means.

Just try and be patient, guys. You must surely be aware that video games are pretty unique in being one of the few things in life that are sold on a 'buy-now, and if you're really lucky we'll fix it later' basis. 'Tis the very nature of digital media, and just something that all we have to square up to.

I'm sure the patch will arrive soon enough. At which point we can all get on with the more serious business of bemoaning the absence of our very own 'personal fixes' in the first update to the game. Image IPB

Rep, you do know that the whole 'Patch' mentality started? Because the devs know they can patch a console game and can rush it out if a deadline gets slapped in their face.

You're absolutely right.

Hence my comment about about 'buy-now, and if you're really lucky we'll fix it later'. It strikes me that buying any video game in this day and age is a giant leap of faith on our part.

Devs better get out of that mentality or if they are going to stay that way, then the console companies should streamline the cert. programs so that they can get them out ASAP.

I'm guessing the Xbox content update will be released just before return to ostagar. It's s shame some of the real glaring problems haven't been fixed already. The game has been out long enough. Console players treated like second rate gamers both on the boards by our fellows and by the company taking our money. At least it is a great game, nonetheless.

EA and Bioware do not have a technical support. Ask your mailman, he can help you as good.

Bull****. That crap might fly for PC with different operating systems, but for a console there is absolutely no excuse for game breaking bugs period. People buy console so they don't have to deal with this kind of bull****. BW has failed. Good luck getting a mod to even look at his sub-forum. They don't give a **** about you or Xbox DA:O. Best trade your game in for something else because there will be no support for this game.

I should of seen this coming when the head PR idiot for BW Chris Priesty stated that console players would be "confused" if BW released a walkthrough of the game! This is BW attitude towards console gamers, according to this PR idiot called Chris, we are so ****ing stupid we would not know the difference between a PC walkthrough and a console walkthrough. I should of read the writing on the wall...

I have to say that i haven't had any of these problems, but then again i'm not at the end of the game.

So i have to think that it is only just a matter of time befor it gets to me too. Taiko thanks for the history lesson, i honestly had no idea but it makes a lot of sense. It just really to bad that you sound like you know what your talking about because this is a pretty bad ass game, and it would suck for BW/EA to be such douch bags. Once again getting the shaft by "The Man" !!!

Aren't they bundling the patch with the next DLC? Reason I ask, is because I was posting around on the ME2 forums and some guy made 2 different topics asking BioWare if they'd do the same thing with ME2. Both topics were locked.

Hey, steady up a little. If you hadn't totally missed the irony in that post, you might just have spotted that I'm on your side!

Oh well. Here's my take on it anyway......

Console or PC, the format is irrelevant. It's digital media, and as such, not covered by our statutory rights as consumers. That's the real reason why it's becoming all too common to see broken and unfinished games being released. They do it, for no other reason than that they CAN, and DO get away with it without fear of being challenged by the law. Sure, they might spin the tired old spiel about having to meet contractual obligations for a release date; but as we all know, any form of 'get out of jail free card' can be wide open to the abuse of any lazy, or incompetent devs out there that choose to take that route. Which is something I don't like that anymore than you do, but is a fact of life nonetheless.

As for your perceived view of Bioware's opinion of console gamers: why do you even care what they think? It is we who occupy the moral high ground on this issue, not Bioware. They have released a flawed and broken game on the general populace, and in doing so, provided tangible proof of their own ineptitude. Which in my book, carries a great deal more weight than any fanciful notions on their part, regarding us!

And finally; game breaking bugs. Which I seem to have been lucky enough to have avoided on my two playthroughs. Not that I'm denying they exist, mind. I guess I've just been lucky, so far!
