Then wouldn't make sense to have some not boring and not underpowered humans? Your argument against more humans is no one wants to use the ones we have now, well then they are underrepresented and need some attention and so in a way this DLC is exactly what we want.XxTaLoNxX wrote...
This. It's a viable leak.
But 6 (SIX) more humans? Wow.... I hope that's a typo or a mistake because.... you know what, never mind.
All I can say is, by that point... what would be the point?
Cerberus Adepts and Vanguards are a let down, and the other Humans are boring and underpowered.
If you guys are "ok" with getting more boring and underpowered humans then.... fine. Go for it.
My opinion... that's some lame **** right there.
I want more humans, humans get to roll. I don't want any turians, they can't roll, salarians don't really fight in open combat so nothing makes sense besides engineer and infiltrator which we have, Drell don't really make sense as techies or soldiers and I'd rather have human's shields.
These combat operations are conducted by the alliance anyways so we are lucky we have gotten so many aliens so far, It's perfectly ok for most of the combat force to be human.
Honestly would copy/pasting another drell or salarian really be all that different than more humans? they have less variety than the humans (all envirosuits look the same). Maybe these humans will at least get different accents, I mean if we have a firebase in Rio we could maybe get some Portuguese?

With how you keep harping upon how this rumored DLC is "uninspired" and pining that it is nothing that the fans want?
I'd say it sounds pretty reasonable.
I keep harping about it? No, I quite remember saying a few times after that maybe uninspired wasn't the best word, just that I personally found the DLC idea to be incredibly boring/bad. And yeah I'd say it doesn't have much to do with what the fans want. But I'll get to you later on that since you wanted to quote at something every few lines to throw in a snarky comment.
And again, we go with assumptions. Yay!
This is all assumption, your last post no matter how you feel about it didn't tell much anything other than "listening to your fans too much is bad". I know you want to respond something along the lines of "Someone's not smart enough to understand it", but I'm sorry there's nothing to understand.
No, you're reading what you want from my posts.
The bad ideas far outnumber the good. They're also far more vocal about their ideas, fussing that BioWare needs to do it to "make the game betterer!".
I'm sure if BioWare wanted to devote staff members to reading through pages upon pages upon pages of ideas, they could do it.
Something
which also needs to be taken into consideration, which you didn't
really seem to grasp from my post, is that these DLC packs are done
quite awhile before we see these rumors/leaks.
By the time we're
seeing leaks/rumors, it's usually because those items have been
submitted to Microsoft/Sony for preliminary testing.
Yeah expect it's not about reading through pages of pages of idiots wanting reapers as playable races, if someone actually spends a short while on the forums, you can see what the fans really want, the reasonable ones. You know, stuff like people asking for turian infiltrators and so on. Listening to your fans isn't as complicated as you seem to want to make it. And sure they are done long before leaks/announcements, that doesn't change the quite popular "more humans?" posts that keep turning up. And it's not an unreasonable demand like the other stuff, I'm sure everyone can see the human race outnumbers everything in multiplayer.
I don't think we're reading the same forums.
There were complaints when it was announced that "Phoenix" was Ex-Cerberus and not Prothean.
There were complaints when it was announced that the "Male Quarian" was going to be added.
Yet there would have been complaints had they been prothean. The whole debate is questionable, the other side doesn't want protheans because they break lore, and the others want them because it's exciting and new and don't care about lore. It wasn't a majority that wanted protheans, I'd say it was quite even on both sides. Making them cerberus on the long run prevented a lot more whining.
There are complaints of everything, and no I don't recall seeing any posts complaining about male quarians, why would it matter? People will complain of everything, that doesn't prove anything.
Thank you for making my point for me.
Thank you for reading what you want to see yourself.
Once again, there you go reading what you want from a post. Nowhere did I say anything about that, but let's continue.
No, you did. Since it was exactly the "popular thing most want" I was promoting.
So who should they listen to? The person who posts their idea once, nobody replies to it and they drop the matter?
BioWare
would be better served to just ignore the fanbase, period, for the time
being as this is their first real foray into multiplatform MP when it
comes to the "I want!" syndrome. The more logical or well-thought out
ideas are usually left to rot when it comes to the world of Internet
Forums, while the silly/outrageous ideas draw more attention simply
because more people are inclined to crap upon a poorly planned idea than
to laud a well-thought out idea.
They should listen to ciommon sense. If Bioware is as disconnected as you make it sound, incapeable of knowing crap popular ideas from good popular ideas, they are beyond saving.
Yeah not listening to your fanbase could lead to all kinds of cool stuff, like less choices, less RPG elements and more questionable endings. If the game had sold a lot, and they absolutely ignored all feedback, that's how it'd end up. Because as long as no one's complaining, might aswell go as far as you can to get the COD crowd. Feedback is necessary for any business, completely ignoring it is one of the stupidest things to do.
Instead be realistic with what people want, use it to keep your fanbase, without letting them make the choices for you. The choices aren't "let the fanbase make the decisions" and "make all the decisions". It's something very much in between. And if the company isn't stupid, they can do it just fine.
But doing something least wanted, even if some people would be open to it, is just silly. And that is my opinion, but I know you're going to jump to my throat and say my opinion is wrong anyway.
Here's the problem.
Once again, you're assuming that these
DLC packs are being produced in response to the wants of the community.
Did you ever consider that it might be a way to try to make the Humans
more appealing to the playerbase?
I know since I got my MQI/MQE my MHI/MHE have taken a backseat. They're just not that good when it comes down to it.
It's
also entirely possible that this DLC was done with a specific objective
in mind, namely something to coincide with the story driven
"Operations" we've been engaged in.
Yeah perish the thought content for the game would be made with the fanbase in mind. Better to push your luck by doing the exact opposite and maybe they'll like it anyway. Like I said, I consider that bad business.
They've tried to make humans more appealing all games. ME2 had A LOT of humans, and it pushed the idea humans are superior to other races. It doesn't work, if someone doesn't like humans in scifi, shoving it to their faces isn't going to change their minds.
Also I agree more powerful humans would be fine to have. But six?
It was their homeworld. The Collectors, if you'll remember, through
ME2 are noted as being "untouchable" because of the Omega Relay.
Like I said though:
I'd be great with seeing Collectors as part of the Reaper forces.
Fair enough.
So, that's that. I'm propably going to read the answer to this post much later so my response will come quite slowly, I think.

This could easily be a test to see how we react to a planet based DLC. Imagine it! A planet based DLC with 6 new characters all of that planet's race. AWESOME.
Mass Effect 3: Palaven
Mass Effect 3: Sur'kesh
etc

SO what would exactly be awesome here? Would we get some specific planet-based missions? New DLC-exclusive gameplay modes? New enemies at last? Nope. We'd only get some Hackett blah-blah-blah on Bioware blog, remotely connected to the 'theme' of the DLC. And ofc, new classes and weapons, to fight same boring and repetitive survival with same mobs. *yawn*
We could have so many interesting things with Rebellion. Ways to actually introduce new characters. Missions to rescue our new Cerberus allies, who are besieged on some remote base. A reinforced Cerberus, with new types of enemies, to reflect TIM trying to counterattack after the loss of Phoenix soldiers. NO. It's the same unimaginative mp. I don't even understand how Vorcha and Quarians fit into a supposed Rebellion theme.
This is MASS EFFECT, by the Goddess. A story-centered game. WHY, why can't we have these story elements tied into this multiplayer. Where's all Bioware imagination and creativity? I don't understand. probably, the rEApers took them.

I wish this would happen. It would be so damn awesome. And I'd finally get some more turians to play...
