Silver is fine as it is. It has enough challenge to be interesting but not too difficult to carry 1 or 2 noobs. Make it any harder and bronze players will find it too frustrating to move up to silver.

I think silver is pretty well balanced as it is. Doesn't mean people from silver don't migrate to Gold too quickly, but then again you will find (on a regular basis) people with N7s lower than 30 on silver, and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. They do need a platinum level. For platinum level you would need a code to enter, to receive this code you would have to complete A. 20 Solo Gold's and B. 75 full extractions on Gold. That way the only people who would be "allowed" in would the "elite" people who can do this. Of course then what would they post threads about? "People who are getting the code don't deserve the code"

"What are you talking about? Silver is so difficult when your teammates are completely retarded which in most case, it is" I know alot of people with developmental disabilities who are really good at video games actually, and sometimes better than alot of other people that i've come across.

No.... just no.

Silver games are 10x harder than gold games already due to the suckyness of your teammates and the lack of hosts in your country.

If they increase the difficulty it will be ignored by me forever, because even now I hardly play it because of all the noobs that do stupid $#!%.

Personally, I think the game needs two more type of difficulties to act as intermediates. One between bronze and silver and the other between silver and gold. That way, it can prepare you to play the next form of difficulty but that would require work from the developers and that's a no.

Silver doesn't need to be harder,,, you simply need to go to gold... and if gold is difficult, use less teammates, or less equipment, or go solo

I think the only thing which could be implemented efficiently is a platinum difficulty

Considering I just ran a Silver challenge last night that had, in the same wave, at the same time on the field, 3 banshees and 4 brutes I don't want to hear about silver needing to be harder.

Silver is fine as it is. It is the proper step between people who don't want to sleep through waves on Bronze and have enough of a life that they'll never be good enough for gold.

Hunger for more credits per hour is probably why people good at Silver want to play Gold. I have to play 4 complete Bronze matches for every Spectre Pack I buy, while the last Gold game I dropped into and got Wave 10 credits for was like 30K. HUGE difference.

I'm not even *good* at Silver. I mostly play Bronze because I can usually finish the game without using any of my consumables. When I play Silver, like this weekend with my Quarian Male Engineer, it costs me plenty of gels and Ops and, now that I carry grenades of which the supply is ludicrously crippled, reload packs. I kill my fair share, sometimes topping the leaderboard at the end. What I need to have is 360-degree radar so I know when something has locked on to me and I have to move. Ultra-rare gear like THAT would make my life easier without actually making me OP'd. If I failed to move, then the gear is useless.

You can't stop people from trying to get more credits per hour than they do in Silver. A wipeout after Wave 3 in every Gold game is still profitable on a credits-per-hour basis. Maybe if the leader had the option to set the game to void all credits and XP earned unless there was at least a partial extraction, you'd get fewer hangers-on looking to scrape up what they can...

Silver is fine as it is, but I admit I have noticed an increased number of N7 below 100 with inadapted equipment in public gold. I just host and leave if I see this. That way I avoid being dumped in an ongoing game with inadequate teammates. If I just join a gold game, I accept the risk.

After playing a couple games in Silver this weekend (misread the community goal) I realize now why so many noobs end up in my Gold games.  Silver is too easy!!  The hardest thing about Silver is the bad teammates.  Maybe, just maybe, if Silver was harder then the noobs who are now emboldened by how easy Silver is currently wouldn't fill up the Gold Lobbies.

...what?

Silver is supposed to be easier than Gold.

Why would it be made harder?

Your logic has no place here!

I agree 100% with the OP because it's the damn truth. If friends aren't online, playing with randoms is almost a punishment. Getting the mission done for this weekend was an exercise in endurance and frustration.

The thing that irks me about this the most is that when I and others like myself weren't ready for silver or gold we STAYED ON BRONZE. We learned the ropes, we got better gear and then we advanced. We didn't just hop into silver because "lol it aint gold". We took our time, and now we're on Gold.  The arrogance of these people is absolutely mindblowing.

EXACTLY!!!!

There is a harder Silver. It's called Gold.

You seem to be complaining that players in Silver suck, and those sucky players get into "your" Gold lobbies. How is making something harder going to help that? The players will still suck, and since Silver is harder, they'll suck harder at Silver.

The logic of your argument escapes me.

As for all this whining that Silver players suck so bad, I've just completed a string of 11 consecutive extractions on Silver with randoms. Maybe it's not really so much the other players that suck, but rather the complainers themselves?

1.  Silver players are bad: here's a great thread detailing just how bad:  http://social.biowar.../index/12492764

2.  I'm not surprised my logic escapes you.

i dont wish to sound out of place as a "bronzer" . but how do you learn silver without going on silver? yes i done a fair amount of matches on bronze and as i said in another thread, i want to move up a level.

Yes , ill fall over alot due to the increase in punishment that silver gives over bronze. but ill learn ( as many others will and have). but bronze people need silver to be as "easy" as it is due to the transition from bronze. im not going to think " oh i did silver, now gold cant be much worse can it?" because i know my skills/knowledge of game physics, dynamics and sods law appreciation are not up to it. but if you make silver harder to give the silvers a better training to gold, then it makes the transition from bronze that much harder.

some of us dont have the time, resources. so we have to dip our toes to find out. and sadly this weekend was a silver (or better) weekend.

dont get me wrong. I dont want to knock anybody, but there has been many a high N7 rank on silver this weekend that fell over and died on waves 1~3. complacency? . s*&^ happens. its a game. have fun :). pick 'em up and move on..

*disclaimer* nobody really got hurt this weekend, you just found the boundries of your patience.

So you're basing this thread off someones complaint thread because bronze players are going into silver and possibly gold for this weekend's event and most likely won't come back after it?

A man finds this very strange and silly. If one wants higher difficulty, a man joins a gold match.

A man don't whant your "higher difficulty", now good day.

1.  Resources.  Yes, your right the lower levels don't prepare you resource wise for the upper levels (e.g. you don't make enough credits playing Bronze for decent weapons for Silver).

2.  Each level should prepare you for the next.  When you are consistently a top scorer on Bronze you should theoretically be ready for Silver.  The problem is that the current levels don't prepare their players for the next level of difficulty.  Thus players are faced with the dilemma of dragging down their teammates in the higher level game that their not prepared for or being stuck playing the low level game that is boring to them.

3.  N7 rank is useless after N7 20 and you shouldn't use it to assess a player's skill.

The hardest thing about any difficulty is (Random)teammates. Besides this common fact, I don't see anyreason why Silver needs to be *Harder*.

We have 3 difficulties/challenges that are all aparently different from one another. Why should we make silver harder then it already is when we already have a gold difficulty?

LOL...you need to seek mental help.  Anyone that refers to themselves in the third person is borderline nuts (if not nuts).  Either way seek help.
