 Do you try to come up with funny names or serious ones?

Most names I come up with are serious and have some sort of derivation based on characters in the story. And some just look like 'Buck' or a 'David.'

I always give the names consistent with others of their race from the games/books. I name my geth strings of numbers.I never name them anything clever or funny, I hate things that are funny.

I named all my Humans (with the exception of the Phoenix and Male Engineer) after Freelancers from Red vs. Blue (because I have no imagination). For instance, my Female Soldier is Agent Texas, with the Black colour scheme and Orange lights to get as close to the original Tex as I could.
The rest are alien-sounding names for Non-Quarians/Geth/Phoenix (e.g. Turian Sentinel called Koros Olarium).
I gave my Phoenix members Earth-like codenames (A: Operative Terra, V: Operative Sol) to symbolize Cerberus' Pro-Earth views.
My Krogans are simply "Urdnot (Soldier: Zenuk, Sentinel: Norek, and Vanguard: Karlem).
Finally, I gave my Geth robotic names. My Gethfiltrator is called Overwatch, while my Gethgineer is Epsilon.
As all my characters have unique names, I won't list them all due to having a Full-House (with the exception of the Male Quarians), which would take up too much space.

Now I name them poool, Character Nam1, Character Nam2, and aaaa.

BTW, has anyone noticed you can't name your Geth "Geth"? You get an error message if you try, It says to think of a creative name.

But there is no individual. They are all Geth...

Geth was one of the first things I tried to name my Geth.

It actually let me do it once, but then I promoted the class and I haven't been able to get it back since. Just tells me to come up with a unique name for it.

I named mine Tex as well, because I happened to be re-watching it at the time. And lets be honest, it's kinda fitting.

I usually use parody of ME names.
Like my Turian Sentinel is: Souren Artery, and my Salarian Infiltrator is "Killihee"
And one of my quarians is Zi Vas QuibQuib.

I name my characters seriously, and try to keep them with realistic to their race names and surnames as best I can. I throw a few jokes in there with humans and Quarians, as well as straight up joke names for Geth because the only named Geth already has the best name for one. A solid gold Geth named Ge-3PO is still funny to me though.

I mostly name them after characters from other franchises. My first crop of characters were named after Star Trek DS9 characters, but eventually I ran out of names and had to branch out. I've got my Rebellion characters in naming pairs; Kan'Darus (mQE) and Mand'Elor (mQI), Tweedledee (VSe) and Tweedledum (VSo), Shock (PV) and Awe (PA).
