I wish it had been a bit longer but mileage will vary. I play the game quite a bit so for me it's an extra hour of play for many characters at this point. Not to mention it has one of the better armor sets, a few great weapons, a very nice belt, new skills, and potentially a good chunk of gold depending on the dialogue options you take.

I, on the whole, liked it.

There was only one big problem: 'Levi Dryden', they really should have given him the boot from that.

His inane babblings really spoilt the story I think.

Not gonna lie, was going in kinda expecting a dungeon crawl more on the scale of Watcher's Keep from BGII:ToB.

But I can't really say it was a total ripoff either.

BioWare have never done any good DLC to be honest.

Mass Effect DLC was ok, but they only give you about 40 minutes of gameplay(and thats finsing everything there is to do).

Wardens Peak was a nice bit of DLC, but it wasn't worth the price. I hope the future DLC they bring out actually has some lifespan to it.

I think Wardens Keep was a bit too short, then again my expectations on DLC skyrocketed when Fallout 3 introdcued its' DLC.

Plus it adds a couple vendors to the game, one of which can help you make a pretty powerful sword.

If you just want phat lewt you can make it yourself with the toolkit, or download a mod to add it. I cannot justify paying money for in-game items in any game, but in particular it's silly to do so in a moddable single-player game like this one.

Yeah, that's what  I was thinking too.  Eventually,  the vender argument  (as well as the arguments about 'cool new  magic items') in DLCs will be obsolete.  When the community gets really good with the tool-set, we'll all be able to download stuff like that for free.

What I'm wondering though  is whether soldiers keep was  supposed to be bigger than it is.  Levi keeps talking about the tunnels that your party had to go through  to get there.  What happened to them?

The quest was awesome but a little too easy. The Dryden part was scary, the armor and swords look great. The new base was a disappointment though. Will they add a DLC to this DLC to expand the story and quest of the new headquarters? I hope so. Or maybe it will have to be a toolset project.

Tell me, can you re-use your cigarettes that you have smoked from that packet after you've smoked them all?

No, whereas with Wardens Keep, you can.

Meh, you can only take such  red herring comparisons so far before  they become pointless.

I, for one, can replay the thousands of hours of FREE downloaded material for NWN,  NWN2, BG2, IWD etc.... and have.

Whereas,   I have to  pay for  Warden's keep....

you can reuse the entire game too, so that makes that argument moot.

the point most people have, isnt that the price "SEVEN dollars, omg what a huge sum of money, who can afford THAT?!" its that 7 dollars is overpriced, for what you get. which i agree with.

DLC with this amount of content should be 3 to 4 dollars TOPS imo. its all about the vaule you get for yer dollar, not the actual dollar amount.

Even if a DLC is a 3 hour dungeon crawl. It will still seem short because it is completed in one chunk.

I think they need to add some sidequests that open up later.

If you think you are that good, why not make an exact copy of Wardens Keep, with all the stuff that came in it including all the voiceover work and offer it for less than what it cost for Wardens Keep.

"Let's see you do better" is a classic fallacy. One need not be an artist to be an art critic.

This thread helped me decide what to do.

I was curious how the DLC would work, as a business model and in practice. And I like the game, so I was starting to get tempted. $7 for an hour or two of gameplay? I can afford it, sure, and I didn't expect a ton of plot . . . but for that price I would expect a pretty good dungeon crawl.. As much as I like Dragon Age, a full length game gives way more bang for the buck.

I might look at it again if they package a bunch of DLC's together in a year or so, when it's time to take the game off the shelf for another playthrough or too.

I have to agree that Levi Dryden needs to go. I don't see the point in him tagging along when he's so visibly scared.
I was relieved to finally see the annoying salesman out of my camp, then very irritated to see that he had to follow us throughout the entire DLC.

Broke his controller... so he got mad paying 7 bucks.. only to have to buy a 60 dollar controller again.. hm. But regardless, I think he was expecting way to much from the DLC if he got that mad.

I honestly plan on buying it regardless of how everyone is either saying its too short, or its over-priced with a few sprinkled here and there saying its was pretty good regardless. I'm not so much for the gameplay as the lore, after spending a whole day reading through the lore, I got just pulled into it all and from what I've heard, it has plenty of lore.. worth it. Kinda hope they do what MGS4 did (Don't kill me, but I loved it.) and put out a free DLC with all the lore, characters, histories, and all that other good stuff in one sexy little package after its been out for a bit. (haha, but I did trade in MGS4 for DA:O.. totally worth it.)

I did think not being able to re-enter the keep was bogus, other than that it was a decent DLC. Hopefully they won't lie to us about DLC content in the future. Image IPB

Nope.  Wrong.
Bring Down the Sky was a GREAT DLC. Being "free" (some might argue that point) and all, and it did give you one of the best Paragon / Renegae choice to make. Save a few men and women and perhaps see a repeat of this very same tragedy because you let a terrorist go, or kill the few innocents and make sure said terrorist never again has the chance to kill?

Though, to be honest I had hope that Warden's keep could become "upgradeable" sort of like in Neverwinter's Night Crossroad Keep and *is* really your base of operations so that you and your allies work to keep the advancing darkspawn at bay while you are still running around gathering allies and all but, no go. Oh well.

We need more DLCs like The Stone Prisoner (Shale) and less like Warden's keep. Shale (give her more dialouge!) was worth it.

Only for those who bought the collectors edition, everyone else pays for it.

Speaking of which, buying the collector's edition was probably the best thing I did. Shale, Warden's Keep and a good other stuff "free". Much less then if I had to actually buy them off the DLC store.

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised , especially after everyone bad mouthed it.

Granted lately Ive been forced along to bars and the like, wheres it $7 a glass. (which is why I prefer not going to bars).

So the price for the Keep didnt seem that bad :)
