How do you know what the new "reward" you get for completing the side quests?

Are you suppose to memorize your inventory than scan all categories?

Just finished The Golem Registry and I got an artifact?  Checked out Dragon Age Weak-I but the quest isn't even listed!!!!

Can't they hi-lite the item,  NO  just a micro-second Item Received noticed.

Do you get any experience points for completing quests, or is this another gameplay feature?

The truth is, this quest is bugged and you most likely didn't actually receive anything.

Bugged or not, actually working out what you received as a quest reward or plot item can be quite a chore. Of course, I'm on the 360, so I don't know what it's like on the PC, but if there are enough items to fill the entire screen in the relevant category, I can only scroll down by moving to the next item outside the screen, effectively killing the new-item highlight before I get a chance to see it.

How hard was it to make a highlight that stayed until you moved to the next item again, or even letting console players scroll the item list without changing the selected item? I'm looking at you, Edge of Reality.

The problem is that the newest does not distinguish the most recent items, because the cut scenes don't allow you to see the most recent addition.  That's why the "newest" is bogus, the most recent needs to be displayed when you receive it; and not fly off the screen without a listing,

IS IT SO HARD TO LIST WHAT YOUR REWARD IS????

Kimme a break!!!  The mechanics of the game IS NOT FUN any longer. MAJOR MAJOR inadequacies....

Is this the designers intent.Posted Image

Uh...what?

A) By clicking on the "list newest tab" it lists the newest item you received in progressive chronological order. So yes it DOES distinguish the most recent addition. Its the one at the top of the list of items you are carrying.

B) If the item isnt in your general pack then its under "plot items."

C) Lastly the newest items added since last you checked your pack are highlighted wity a gold border/glow until you mouse over them in your pack.

Now given all of that if you cant figure out how to see what you just got in your pack the problem is yours, not Bioware's.

All the excuses for shoddy design are LOL. It SHOULD work thusly -> Notifictation: New Items received: Received xxxx item.

Any excuse for not having it work like this is just an excuse.

Stealing should work the same way.

I always prefer more information to less ...

Quest "xxx" complete!

Received "item name"!

Received 4 g 0 s 0 c!

Received 150 xp!

Mass Effect does it right, so I know it's a conscious decision to provide less information rather than more.

@ Broughden: The problem with "A" is that it will only list the newest rec'd item at the top if it is the first instance of that item in your possession. If you already have, say, a Master Rune in your pack, hitting "newest" will do nothing to help you.

You have to go through and look for the "yellow border" around an item. As I don't do this after every time I pick a chest or loot an enemy, I always have a LOT of yellow borders.

I don't want to call the design "shoddy," but the current implementation is very aggravating.

@ hOnOr: DA:O was in development for a long time. I think it actually predates the first ME, but I could be wrong.

Georg has already said (when talking about the DEX Dagger thing) that some of the issues are known, and a reflection of older design decisions and the resources required to change/fix them would have meant less content or cuts elsewhere.

Thanks for the info BUT my game must be bugged it use to be listed in gold but no longer... it maybe because I don't play online but start from the executable not the loader...

And to whoever mentioned the chronilogical listing that's not true cause I checked right after I receive an item and its not the most recent...

also Why aren't items listed by groups or listed alpherbetically?  The tactis menu seems random also the storeage chests, seems like a modders paradise here.

I doubt the modders will not advance this game as much as Oblivion's ..guess I was just spoiled, probably cause that toolset was better!!

Items Received mod adds floating text to display what you've looted/stolen/received. I haven't updated to the latest game patch, but it works fine pre-patch.
