Did one LI grow on you or become your favorite as the series progressed?

I hated Kaidan. Almost liked him in ME1, and my Sheps romanced him. But after Horizon? What kind of man would abandon a woman, call her a traitor, and then try to get back with her after she's moved on and is mourning her lover's passing? Mmm? That is EXACTLY the kind of man we women avoid IRL. Bad, bad writing in ME3 all round, but Kaidan. He had gone from a whiny, insecure biotic to a whiny, insecure, possessive **** biotic imo.
I liked Jack, she seemed to grow quite a lot through ME2 and 3.
And I liked Liara in ME2, she had grown from being barely out of childhood to a kick ass woman who could hold her own against anything, and she was AWESOME. Shame she went backwards in ME3, and has turned into a child again. :S

Yeah, it was Kaidan. In ME1, his romance was just there. Y'know, right time, right place. I didn't have a problem with his romance, but since I played renegade, he was borderline "just a nice guy" in comparison. When I read that the VS would be sidelined in ME2 and that there would be six brand-new romances available, I was not thrilled with the idea of waiting another two years to experience romance content on my main Shepard. I decided that if any of the new LIs got my attention, then I'd probably pursue them instead. However, before that could happen, Horizon rolled around. I was just floored for a myraid of reasons: 1) the intensity of his anger -- he was mad because he really cared 2) wore his heart on his sleeve, saying he loved Shepard and 3) stood by his principles and refused to follow her down that rabbit hole. (I absolutely understood the VS position at Horizon and did not hold it against either of them. Shepard really was just as much to blame in that whole plot hammer.) That took balls to make a stand like that, which as a renegade I definitely respected. Right then and there, I knew that there would be no one else for Shepard. I felt his character showed a lot more growth in ME3. I was thrilled that he climbed the ranks on his own instead of riding Shepard's coattails. He showed initiative in clearing the air and continuing the romance. I just thought the whole thing was nicely executed.iTz Garrus wrote...

Ha! A Legion romance would be kind of hilarious. Considering all the geth programs it consists of, would it count as a polyamorous relationship?

Then came Mass Effect 3 where he was completely, and absolutely assasinated as a Character showing just how much Bioware did not teir their own work because of this very site and that they turned their backs on everyone who had ever taken Jacob's romance path and kept it when they imported their saves to ME3 and gave them the biggest middle finger in the history of gaming. Glad to know they thought Jacobmancers were the lowest of the low when it came to their fans.

Miranda.
When I first saw the trailers about the characters and voice actors, I was a bit skeptical. I think it was during that whole furore about the character designs for her and Subject Zero (as she was known then). And, I mean, I'd never seen Chuck, plus the line-reading they included in a video wasn't that great (and, thankfully, wasn't the take they used).
Then she shows up, shoots Wilson in the neck and cracks wise. It was love at first sight.
But, yeah, as the game progressed I think the character had a really good (if a little compressed) arc. There was a complexity to the character that I think was portrayed rather well. Especially since, like some other more controversial characters, you have to make a bit of effort to get past the prickly exterior.
For the romance, there was that underlying sexual tension you didn't really get with other characters, and I liked that she was more an independent person rather than a devout Shepard follower (not looking to criticise anyone's preferences, that's just my own). Additionally, I think Yvonne Strahovski did a fantastic job with the role, and I watched all of Chuck off the back of that...
This (minus the Chuck bits).
Plus, y'know, Miranda is just THAT goddamned awesome.

Although imo all the characters are well made and have something appealing to them if you respect them in their element. Among the favorites: Mordin, Bro Garrus, Wrex, Thane and Samara.
Tali was the one apart from Liara that could really treat my emotional dedication and respond in a mutual way.

Of course! Morinth obviously traveled into the future, saw the coming doom, and wanted to make sure Shepard at least died a pleasurable death. It all makes sense now...Morinth is ME2's version of Marauder Shields.bobobo878 wrote...
Morinth, after I saw ME3's endings, i realized that letting her microwave my brains at the end of ME2 was a much better way to end my Shepard's story,

I warmed up to Liara after playing LotSB. I went back and started a Shep with a Liara relationship, and LotSB was even better. She's much more interesting in LotSB and ME3. She's not my favorite, but she did grow on me.
(Jack became my favorite the instant she opened her mouth. "Sh*t, you sound like a p*ssy". I lol'd, I swooned).

When my boyfriend informed me he was a love interest in ME2, I did a literal spit-take. My boyfriend always buys the strategy guides and checks these things, and we'd both been internet free prior to the release of 2. I believe my actual reaction was "What the hell? HOW? Dear god, why?!" I've always liked Garrus, though I wasn't THAT taken with him in 1 (The rules are your friends, GAAAARRUS). But I never figured him for a romance option, and figured that'd be an unholy mess.
And so I ran my Kaidan-mancing paragon favorite Shepard through. I was sorely tempted by Thane. (Second run-through, she did not resist. At all. Thane. GIMME.)
Then I ran my backup Shepard, a rough-around-the-edges forever-alone Shep as my third run-through. And went Garrus.
....Yeah, Garrus all the way. Now my favorite romance across the trilogy. No other romance comes CLOSE in pacing and cuteness. In my opinion.
