So... since Leliana has inevitably joined the damn Seekers by the end of DA2, and doesn`t know where the Warden is, am I to assume that they are no longer together if she was romanced in the first game?

Wow, that`s pretty upsetting. As in, that just totally ruined DAO`s Leliana romance for me and made the entire thing utterly pointless.

Seems like somewhere in the 8 1/2 year time frame,(Awakinings was what about a year after DA:O?They split even though you get a letter at the begining of Awakinings at the Keep.Leliana does say that the Warden will always have a place in her heart to Hawke.
But since the Seeker movie came out I was wondering if during that time frame the Divine had her looking for the Warden as she being the left Hand of the Divine should have been there for the 10 year festival.Maybe She'll let us know what is going on in DA3?

She didn't "join" the seekers, she is just with them. And in all PTs the warden is gone and she is looking for him/her. She openly acknowledges the wardens romance with her when you meet her in the game.

^yep. we all figured that Leliana was a Seeker because she was wearing Seeker armor and was with the other Seekers at the end of DA2, but we were told by the devs that that was not the case.

I think one Dev even said that that wasn't Seeker armor she was wearing.

It made less sense for me, seeing how my Warden died slaying the archdemon and the epilogue said Leliana spent the rest of her days writing songs and mourning.


If he were alive though, it sounds as though the Warden mysteriously disappeared so it gives Leliana even more reason to search for him if she was in love.

For the US ending, Awakening had an Orlesian Warden step in as Warden Commander in Ferelden.  It has been suggested that this is the Warden she is referring to in the case of a dead Origins warden.

Alternatively, perhaps you aren't to assume that, based solely on a brief cameo that goes into almost no detail about such things and largely appears to set up future storylines which we know virtually nothing about.  Just saying.
