So I was just wondering if I've already screwed up in developing a relationship with Kaidan.
I read somewhere you could buy the whiskey from one of the Citadel shops and give it to him when you first meet him in Huerta. This will spark the romance.
Is it possible that you could still romance him without having given him the whiskey?

The whiskey doesn't matter. Just be nice to him (go visit him at the hospital after every mission).
The only way you won't get the romance is if you make it so that he doesn't trust you or if you initiate a romance with somebody else first (once you start a romance in this game, you're locked into it).
