Which Bann is in charge of Lothering? When you arrive, they mention he'd taken his army and left with Lohgain, but I can't remember if they say who it is or if its ever mentioned. Is it someone who plays into the later story, at the Landsmeet?

As an added question, anyone know the relation between Arls, Terans, and Banns? (I don't know if I speeled thos all correctly..)

I believe Teyrns (sp?) are the highest ranking, something like only two of them. Arls are the next highest tier of noble, with Banns the least. It has to do with the size and importance of their lands. Redcliff is small but merits an Arl because of its strategic value as a border defense.

I think the name is mentioned but I don't remember it. However since I just started my second game I'll pay attention to it when I get there.

Banns are basically like barons, they rule over relatively small stretches of land. The teyrns were originally the most powerful war leaders of the old tribes, those whom even other leaders swore allegiance to. There used to be many of them, but when Calenhad united Ferelden he managed to get rid of most of these most powerful contenders for rulership. The only two remaining teyrnir in modern times are Highever (ruled by the human noble origin family, the Couslands) and Gwaren (ruled by Loghain).

Arls are in charge of important fortresses which the local teyrn/teyrna or the king/queen can't manage personally. They're a bit higher in rank than banns.
