the EC is nothing but cutscenes. No gameplay. Game play takes playtesting and bug-finding. No time for that.IT requires new gameplay. No gameplay = no IT.

Says who? Bioware?.......

Well common sense has a say in it.  The EC is a chunk out of ME3 sales they are not going to dig into that any more than they have to (that's both Bioware & EA).  It wouldn't surprise me if all we got were a few voiced over epilogue cards.

Too bad if that's what they were doing it would be out by now.

Don't be foolish.

They lied about almost everything in Mass Effect 3 and gave us far less than what we expected. Assuming they follow the same path, they will lie what is in the EC and again give us far less than we want.

Mentioned it in a previous post I'm certain, and I'll remain certain until shown otherwise upon release, that the reason the EC won't be coming out until summer is more about the fans and less about how long it takes to put together.  EA and Bioware need time for people to cool off and move on before releasing the EC so that when/if it disappoints nobody cares anymore.

They are planning to reveal the brand new Mass Effect FPS shooter with no voice acting what so ever exept the occasional grunts and Duke Nukem like One-liners. But on the other hands we will get bigger guns and twice the size and twice as many explosions. And more boobs.

Yes, this has a longer development cycle than LotSB and that cost millions of dollars.

It isn't cheap to render things, or hire voice actors OR pay employees for work that you won't see a return investment on.

"Big" is debatable, cheap is not.

Valid point... But let's put it this way...

No ending fix / follow up / surprise = no more selling DLCs! If they blow our minds. We will beg them to take our money for the upcoming 4-5 Single Player DLCs.=]

I have a feeling they knew what they were doing all along... It would explain the day one DLC... Would anybody have bought the DLC during the chiatstrom? I don't think so...

I believe the EC will be decent and fix it for some and not for others. I don't believe it will ultimate proof of perfection or anything, just a fix

Understand that everything you have typed here, makes absolutely no business sense, logical sense, or emotional sense.

Stop looking for a boogeyman.

The ending was just BAD. Be thankful you're getting anything at all.

I'm not counting on it, but yeah, in this case it would awesome if they promised less and delivered more. I'd love to be blown away by it.

Pretty much this. I think there's not much hope in hell of it happening... but maybe.

You know what else makes no business sense, logical sense, or emotional sense--

Blatantly ****ing up the ending of a great series, and then responding to justified anger over aforementioned blatantly ****ed up ending with rants of 'artistic integrity'.

What exactly doesn't make sense?  They're giving the EC away for free so they aren't going to put a lot of time or money into it.  However to avoid a response similar to the original ending they give the fanbase time to cool their heels and shift their focus to other titles.  With their focus elsewhere fans aren't going to go into the EC with particularly high expectations and even if it disappoints it's unlikely to result in the same kind of uproar.  As an observer of people I've seen we don't have a particularly long attention span with regards to entertainment; a few months of silence and other distractions can be the difference between, "This is still awful," and "Meh it's alrigt I guess."

I actually rather liked the ending, not as good as it could've been and not what I was hoping for but still, and I find the EC to be unecessary if not unwelcome.  My conclusion is based on years of dealing with EA business practices and the knowledge that anything they're doing for free is not going to be done well.

Just like not getting anything at all?

Please. No one should be required to be thankful for getting the EC, when it should have been released with the goddamn game. It is inexcusable to disseminate such a travesty.

Yeah, you should be.

If Bioware thought it was perfect art, they wouldn't be doing anything. But of course the official release statement totally dismisses all rational thought it seems.

EA has nothing to do with the script. Bioware wrote it. No sane executive would have anything to do with the ending in it's current shape. THAT makes business sense.

I don't believe in the IT. I mean, Vendetta would've picked up on it.

Also, I tend to think of crazy things that happen behind the scenes. Maybe Bioware is actually going to give us our better ending, release it as a surprise to win our trust back. It's what I would do.

Yeah, that's totally a good defense.

"No, here's why: [...]"

"YES HUH."

If you care to offer a rational defense, I'll be happy to respond in another manner besides complete dismissal.

So says the person resorting to ad hominem to justify a complete lack of defense of his opinion.

You've nothing, here. Either move along or justify; it's your choice, really.

Agreed, unnecessary. But I think it's normal that people express their views, hopes for the EC or speculations. All or in part due to BW non-communication startegy or whatever ...

Oh, come on. They have sold enough copies of the game itself already. And there's a lot of gamers who will buy their next games and DLC. Yeah, EA has some itty-bitty-little problems on a stock market (down to 13.50), so they had to spit on Origin exclusiveness and released Crysis 2 on Steam, but who cares? One or two more waves of layoffs and everything will be alright. Right?

They probably do have something big coming, but probably isn't related to the ending so people around here won't care.

Like Hack-Writer Walters said, if you knew about that Retake Omega DLC we had planned...
