Do the bad guys have more Hit points on night mare?

No, but they do have more resistances and such. Most of the differences affect your character more than the enemies.

I did Corrupted Spider Queen with 3 different characters. Dex DW was easiest, since he had the most armor and HP to survive an Overwhelm. Cunning Rogue missed a lot but he also was able to survive the Overwhelms. Archer was hardest because he couldn't survive an Overwhelm even at full health and you can't kite the Spider because of her poison attack. I didn't have Lifegiver on any of the characters yet.

Did you notice that her poison attacks sometimes stack? Most attacks of this variety simply refresh the timer. It doesn't appear to do this consistently but there have been times that I've had upwards of 10 copies of this poison on me at once. Even with full nature resists, Lifegiver, and potion spam, surviving that is...challenging

They always stack. Each has its own timer I think, even with 75% nature resist, it still kills you in a hurry if you let her keep spitting at you.

Hmm...Never noticed before. I must have played out the encounter differently this time through.

How are you liking the DW Dex warrior so far? Is the playstyle different enough from a Dex rogue to warrant rolling up another character?

It's more fire and forget than a Rogue. With a Rogue, even after you get your defense high enough to not get hit very often, you still have to worry about stuns, since those reduce your defense to almost nothing, and all the auto-hit attacks and Overwhelms etc. With the Warrior, you have enough armor and HP to not worry so much about taking a few hits, and with Reaver, you do more damage when you're hurt a bit anyway. It's a really strong spec.

Btw, I started a cunning Rogue for the hell of it. Got him to level 13, though I'm using a different build than the one most people use, so he can wear better armor. Otherwise he's too fragile.

Could you please share your build and attributes progression? I'm going Cunning Dagger rogue in a party setting, and am following the build progession set out in Discobird's DPS thread; need to get an idea of how the Cun/Dex/Str progression should go.

The party Cunning build should be Assassin Bard. No points in strength (use gear like Helm of Honleath, Harvest Festival Ring, Key to the City, Ornate Leather Belt and the Barbarian's Mace, that plus the +4 from the fade gets you to 22 strength, enough to equip anything you need) 30 dex, rest into cunning.

Wear the Helm of Honleath, Felons Coat, Cadash Stompers and Red Jenny's Seekers, with the Roses Thorn and either the Dead Thaig Shanker, The Thorn of the Dead Gods (t6) or the T7 3 Rune Slot Crows Dagger. With the Spellward/Witherfang's Heart, Andruils Blessing, the Dusk Ring and Key to the city/Harvest Festival Ring etc (depending on what DLC you have).

Grab Master Stealth, Song of Courage, Momentum, Exploit Weakness, Lethality, Coup De Grace and Riposte ASAP. Those are the most important abilities.

I've really come to appreciate the reaver spec after my solo run.  It seemed so bad at first that I'd never use it but now I can see how strong it can be.  Devour was just awesome while soloing.

I did try DW rogue and DW warrrior and the rogue just bored me.  Too much micromanagement.  Rogues are definetly more technical and have a potential for greater damage per strike.  The warrior makes up for it by not having to perform concentrated strikes or having to deal with preparation before being able to strike.

Maybe if i played with a party I'd have more patience for a rogue but soloing just seemed like too much trouble for what it was worth.  Since then I've only been playing warriors.

Tried a 2h warrior and the beginning seemed like more of a challenge than the DW warrior.  Your hitting speed is so slow but i take it end game is a little easier what with no knockdown or stun.  I'll try and continue it to compare the experience to the DW warrior.

Yeah, you can brute force a lot of things with a Warrior. With a Rogue you have to play more carefully.

Whats the difference between a cunning and dex rogue? Which does more dmg and which has more tankability?

Also i play on the 360 so does that affect my dex/str for daggers?

There are a hundred threads on the forum about Rogue builds and the difference between dex and cun. I think on Xbox, dex is still bugged for daggers but I don't know, I play on the PC.

Yes, dex is bugged for daggers (I can confirm, I'm on PS3).

Basically, if you're wanting to solo, realize that a) utility and B) defense are the most important stats.

Cunning rogues do more damage in a party, but have low defense. For soloing, you want to be a dex rogue. Us console users will have to wait until RtO for the dex fix. Then we can solo with our rogues. Cunning is possible, but harder.

Well I got RtO the minute it came out but it came with the specialization lock [Locked them], but i found a solution for getting around that.

I would get to about few 100 or so exp away from lvl 7 then i would go and get the specialization, then unlock it, because when you turn off the 360 it will lock them again so yeah :|.

I did the Urn of Sacred Ashes with my cunning Rogue, got to level 18. No healing potions used except for the high dragon fight.

No, as I said earlier in this thread, I don't use the standard cunning build, I wear heavy armor.

I killed the dragons today with my archer, and it was much easier than with melee, and required fewer healing potions, as expected. I also finished the Dead Trenches and killed the Broodmother, and didn't use any potions in that fight, but archers are underpowered, right? ;)

Well, I finally got back to playing again with my Mage. The Tower wasn't as tough as I thought it was going to be, though I did have to use a few poultices and potions. I don't know if I could have made it through without "cheating" a bit with Winter's Grasp shooting through walls.

I think you meant to say Branka there, not Jarvia...
