Hello,

For no particular reasons, the desktop icon for ME2 isn't recognized anymore and the images aren't recognized as such in the loading menu and in the achivements for instance - you get an "IMG" icon of some sort instead.

I think I read somewhere it was linked to the connection to Cerberus Network, so I downloaded the latest patch, be on exe it says it can't find the game - I installed it on another drive than C:

I'm under Windows 7 if that helps. I've searched the whole forum but didn't find any clear instructions, please help ?

You will need to handle the situation as if the game had never worked for you before. At the top of the forum, follow the guide to reporting there by Pacifien.

Alright, I added my config details in my signature.
About my current problem :

The desktop icon for ME2 doesn't display properly (broken image). When i try to start a new game nothing happens or I get stuck on the welcome screen without any texts. When i want to load a saved game, the preview images don't display (there is an "IMG" icon instead), when i click on the name of the save, nothing happens.


I've played the game for several days now. I think it may have started when i installed a video capture software to make some video from the game, but not sure. I tried to fiddle a little bit, restarted Windows and sometimes the game works again, sometimes it doesn't.

So i've finally installed the latest patch (I created a missing path entry in the registry), but to no effect apprently...
I've just updated my display driver and also, I don't know why but the config tool indicates DirectX10 while i've got 11 installed.

Did you happen to install ME2 on one drive, and then move it to another? The game is looking for resources that aren't in the right spot. You could back up the files in you documents folder and just run a clean install, then patch.

Thanks for answering, yes I solved the pb, for some weird reason I had renamed a top folder... Getting used to not having everything installed on C I guess  My bad...
