 hey,

So, does anyone else hate the new EDI?

I loved EDI back in ME2 when she was just a floating orb with a voice.

but in ME3 i just can't stand her. I mean first she gets a fembot body like something from an Austin Powers movie, and then all that "how can I be human" questions she asks Shepard. plus she is not helpful in combat what so ever.

so yeah, does anyone else completely hate the new EDI?

I sort of ignored the whole sex appeal direction they went with her. Just completely ignored it. This resulted in me liking her character in ME3.

Nope, I absolutely loved EDI, her and Garrus were my squad-buddies.:)

I think EDI is a fine character, both in ME2 and ME3.

Was the fembot body in 3 unnecessary, yes. Was she a rather useless squadmate, in my opinion, yes. But I felt her character arch was decent. Although the Joker romance was a little over the top.

I preferred her characterisation as the ship and think giving her a body and a generic "robot wants to be human" arc was a huge step backwards.

Personally, I love feminine robots, and always play fembots in the Phantasy Star games for example, but Eva was so blatantly designed as a sex object for Joker to oggle.
His first reaction to her body made me want to toss him out the airlock.

AND YES I GET YOUR STUPID ALLEGORY THERE BIOWARE. EDI = EVA = EVE. HA HA HA.

This.

Every mission, barring those requiring another character, those two accompanied my Vanguard-Shep.

EDI's evolution from a simple AI controlling a limited number of systems to an intelligence much akin to our own, capable of reason, morality, and individuality was beautiful.

Hope you didn't forget Eve! (the Krogan).

BioWare really wants you to get it.

I personally think there should be 4 modes in ME3:
- Action mode
- RPG mode
- Story mode
- Non-stupid mode

Non-stupid mode would change some names, remove some lines, delete entire missions... <_<

AI's are dangerous. We should destroy them before they destroy us.

I bet you think black people are dangerous, too. Or maybe the Jews.

I didn't really mind Eve, because it's explained in-universe, and Mordin has previously expressed an interest in other cultures. It may be a little ham-fisted but not that bad.

Not only was that person probably not serious, but that's completely not a valid comparison.

As for EDI as a squadmate, she was okay I guess. I practically never used her post-Citadel Coup, though.

In ME1 joker says you would never see him dance. Ever since EDI got a new body he started dancing, so no I don't hate EDI.

I find gigantic breasts and metal hair that doesn't move a turn off.. Fortunately this allowed me to concentrate on EDI's personality and how it evolved over the course of the game, which I quite enjoyed.

Maybe the boobs store extra processing power or backup batteries or something?

Actually that would be great, Put her CPU in those massive boobs to make people that stare at them not seem shallow! Oh EDI.. your brain is so sexy!

Jesus, people. At least let something flesh out before making grand assumptions about motivation.

Either way, racism is racism.

Yeah, we can't hate on Tuchanka. <3

Plus Eve isn't her real name so... *shrugs*.

I am surprised BioWare didn't make more of a comparison between Joker's Vrolik's Syndrome and the rib creating Eve though. Joker has broken rips. I think that's a DLC idea there... ^_^

Perhaps in the Extended Cut, just as EDI is about to transfer herself to Eva Core, Joker falls over and breaks a rib. I'm giving it to you BioWare. Just take it!

I don't hate EDI, but I certainly don't find her interesting enough to bring along on missions, and she's kind of a chore to talk to. I completely agree that the body they gave her was hilariously typical neckbeard bait.

EDI and Joker together was kind of cute; a little creepy, and sort of made it look like poor Joker couldn't land a real girlfriend, though. He even turns down Commander Shepard's advances, acting like his boner is too fragile for human meat. I guess a big, metal fleshlight is better suited for his delicate flower.

And in ME4 Joker and EDI's son will make an appearance.
His name will be Artificial Biological Electronic Lifeform. Also, his main weapon will be a Cain.
