I actually liked EDI in ME3. I liked the continued evolution of her character and how she was dealing with having no bounds on her behaviour and programming but the ones she chose. Yes the body thing was unnecessary and some of the dialogue regarding her and Joker gets downright uncomfortable but overall I liked that the character made progress towards being a true individual rather than just a ship's defense intelligence.

I liked her character, but I preferred the ship A.I. role to the new fan service body.

Maybe I just found it awkward that the first thing they do with the concept is ask how Joker is going to sleep with it.

Shepard doesn't question that Joker loves an artificial intelligence, he questions how he could physically handle her...

But I like EDI herself as a character.

a) Counter every defense in the game, including groups, with no travel time (Overload + Incinerate)
Teach the best bonus powers (Defense Matrix: boosts tech damage, pop to instantly refill shields even while being shot, and stacks with Tech Armor for tankShep - and Decoy, which can distract Banshees, Brutes and Phantoms while Shep repositions/attacks from afar.)
