I loved EDI back in ME2 when she was just a floating orb with a voice.
but in ME3 i just can't stand her. I mean first she gets a fembot body like something from an Austin Powers movie, and then all that "how can I be human" questions she asks Shepard. plus she is not helpful in combat what so ever.
so yeah, does anyone else completely hate the new EDI?
I agree with you completely if I want to see an AI figuring out what it means to be human I'll go watch Star Trek TNG.

In ME3, with the ridiculous sexbot body and how that retarded body comes to define every aspect of her, EDI's story became much more simplistic, generic and boring by taking 10 steps backwards.
Though taking 10 steps backwards in complexity and depth is what ME3 seems to be best at.

The only reason she even exists as a squadmate is because there needs to be a tech character at the start, so I can somewhat forgive it.
Needless to say, I would much rather have Miranda by my side than the Cylon.

Same here. I love EDI as a character. But I rarely use her as a squadmate. I always talk to her after missions etc though.

They oversexualized her body WAY too much though, it was kinda creepy talking to her with those torpedo boobs pointing at me all the time. But Bioware did that with a lot of squadie chicks in ME, judging from Ashley and Liara.

If she was just an AI, players wouldn't really care that much. Being your best friend's sexbot, the situation changes. Too bad they executed it poorly.

Eh...she was okay in ME3. Liked it better in ME2 where you could be rude and agro towards her (but Bioware lieks to take away choice in ME3...retards.)

Yeah, Ash in particular. I think she may have had a kid or two during her absense given the hips and chest makeover.

Same with Allers and Vega, however I would have loved more ME2 squadmembers on board.
In my first playthrough I switched squadies regularly, I did not have Javik at that time. The only constant factor in my team was Garrus, for the other spot I rotated during all missions.
In my second playthrough, I bought from ashes and it's basically Garrus and Javik all the time. Still didn't do any mission on Tuchanka though, and that's a pain... playing maybe an hour a week, and after a week I have to find out what I did before because the journal doesn't update.
I frowned on the Joker - EDI relationship, however I encourage them, still don't see how it's even possible though.

So as far as EDI is concerned. I thought the EDI/Joker romance was handled well. I half expected it to be played for laughs but it was done seriously thankfully. Dislike the silly synthesis ending symbolism that involves them though.
Obviously i would have preferred to have ME2 squaddies back even if that meant EDI being in her old ME2 format.

No I do not hate EDI in ME3, one of the best squad members ever IMO.
And I found her very helpful in combat, if used properly.

- Edi, that guy has shields... Overload!
*Edi uses decoy*
- FFFFFFFFUUUU---
But yeah, she is pretty useful since she can take out shields, barriers and armor.

Otherwise I don´t like or hate her - she was just better as simple Ship - after what she endanger whole crew with connection to EVA I want threw out from airlock both Edi and Joker... Yeah why not Joker want sexbot right on the mission in the middle of battle over Palaven - great step ...
