But yes, I too dislike the new EDI.

ME1 had Ashley, a fully-armored soldier. ME2 had Miranda in a skintight catsuit. ME3 took the real woman out completely and gave us a sexbot. I don't like that progression, BioWare. Not one bit.

EDI as a squadmate was redundant as it meant that aside from my own character there were now 2 "engineer" squadmates. I personally would have preferred Miranda as squadmate as her "sentinel" like skillset would make her fitting for any kind of squad. Not to mention equal/better eyecandy. EDI could still chime in plenty of times to give her voice actress, the lovely Tricia Helfer, enough work and chance to show her talent.
EDI as a character was interesting. Sure, it's a bit of a pinnochio story but that's what you can expect from a AI who was 'born' as a rogue AI on Luna base, programmed to shoot and kill stuff and suddenly gaining a desire to stay alive. (Anyone remember the HELP HELP HELP! binary code from ME1 when you 'kill' the rogue AI?)
Set free from her Cerberus restraints she has to learn what it means to have free will, and the responsibilty of the power that comes with that. Naturally she looks to the leader on board the Normandy for guidance, like a child or student would.

I liked EDI....but I don't want her over the possibility of a new squad mate being added.

You have got to be kidding me, she became a robot with a cameltoe, that was boring and took the place of someone like Zaeed or Wrex.wantedman dan wrote...

Nope, I absolutely loved EDI, her and Garrus were my squad-buddies.
This.
Every mission, barring those requiring another character, those two accompanied my Vanguard-Shep.
EDI's evolution from a simple AI controlling a limited number of systems to an intelligence much akin to our own, capable of reason, morality, and individuality was beautiful.
I despise her.
And the things with her and Joker was just annoying. Seriously, Joker you can't do better.

Not to mention the whole having romantic feelings for EDI is just plain ****ing weird.
Like I said...she should have just stayed a floating image on the Normandy, and leave the squad-mate slot for someone else.

No, I'm not. I'm glad you paid attention to what she said, rather than looking at the goddamn vagina.

I bet you think black people are dangerous, too. Or maybe the Jews.
Not only was that person probably not serious, but that's completely not a valid comparison.
Jesus, people. At least let something flesh out before making grand assumptions about motivation.
Either way, racism is racism.
I expect that person was not making a racist comment so much as alluding to the Catalyst's sentiment in the ending. Making assumptions that a comment about a ficticious character, an AI no less, which hs no race to speak of is racist, is pretty ridiculous. Grand assumptions indeed.

Apparently not; if you had, you would have noticed a huge character evolution throughout the game, of which no squadmate could compare in ME3. But, because she has a vagina now, you're like "LOL SEXBOT IRRELEVANT"
