EDI is a great, well written character with a fantastic personal arc.

I thought the body was necessary to help her relate more directly to the crew and become one of them, so it would further shape her personality.

I didn't really care about the sexiness either way, but it seemed perfectly appropriate with Tricia Helfer's voice attached.

Me. Can't stand her. And her becoming a real boy makes me gag.

Granted I was never fond of her in the first place but now? Bleh.

Add that and Joker just becomes creepy and pathetic over that sexbot body and ugh. Not only does she suck but she dragged one of my favorite characters with her.

Here story of my life.

Eventually had to stop talking to Joker. Because you cant even talk to Joker without Edi being there. And he was my favourite. Now he is pathetic.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who feels this way.

I don't know why they did that to Joker. :(

EDI getting a body, doing 'The Pinocchio', and getting down with Joker was pretty r-tarded. Ruined EDI and Joker at the same time.

And EDI's body makes even Miranda and Isabela look tame by comparison. How pathetic and lonely are BioWare's character artists?

curious. does EDI and Garrus have unique dialogue throughout the game? Or is it just "meh"

I wasn't crazy about the character model she was given, but it wasn't enough for me to not like the character. I liked her character arc throughout the series and her voice acting.

As I understand, Seth Green was kinda down with it.  They were probably throwing him a bone.

I also took them everywhere (mostly to avoid the possibility of 'Lead Character Syndrome' wherein the female LI and/or new poster kid Vega gets all the dialogue if brought along), I can't remember a single substantial banter between them. They didn't really play off of each other at all, they just sort of made their own isolated comments.

Hmm the looks were over the top but on the other hand. If you ARE going to design a female infiltrating robot making it hot is obvious.

Because the point of infiltration is standing out as much as possible.

What reason could TIM have for making sure every sexually-frustrated scientist on that base was paying as close attention to Eva (and by extension, everything she was doing) as possible? It just seems counter-intuitive to me.

I don't hate her at all. I thought she had a good story arc, with the AI finding a sense of humanity and soul.

I just never used her as a companion during missions.

I loved EDI. Her interactions with Joker in both games were great, and giving her a body made her a much fuller (pun intended) character. I think it really allowed both her and Joker's characters to grow. Pretty much the only thing Joker was there for in ME1 and 2 were comic relief. In 2, the introduction of EDI gave him a straight-man to play off of, but again, most of it was just for comedic value. In 3, giving her a body made her an equal to him, and allowed them to explore a more dynamic relationship, and not just in a sexual way. Going to the bridge felt less like visiting the comedy-vending machine for a quick one-liner snack, and more about interacting with two members of your crew.

Well the model was a bit too pr0n like but it still holds.

Pretty + manipulative = secrets.

It certainly isn't the first time a pretty lady (or man) has been used for intelligence gathering.

Well yes, but Eva Core is unique in that she was a freakin' robot. Attracting the male gaze is also going to attract, you know, questions like "Wait, is Dr. Core a robot?"

If Cerberus really wanted to infiltrate something with a pretty lady, it would be easier and much more cost effective to just, you know, use a pretty lady.

After spending fighting software - Geth - since ME 1, how can I NOT dislike, distrust AI's?

And now I am forced into being nice to EDI?! No, no, no, no, no, no, no and NO! Woops! There is also the tiny problem with Legion luring you into their group conscious?!

So NO way ever!

I truely hate it not being able to control the way MY Shephard would act towards AI's! With dislike and distrust all the way through!

Was kinda suprised at the whole Fembot thing, I guess Biowares thinking was that Joker needs love too lol.

Personally, I feel she has alittle more character now that she's able to fully interface with other crew members face to face. It brings up alot of interesting dialogue. Can't vouch for her combat experience but she does have interesting dialogue at parts of the game.

I Hated her back in Mass Effect 2, mainly for story-telling related reasons, Mass Effect 3 is even worse, for much of the same reasoning.

I preferred her as a floating orb on the ship. Not a fan of sexbots.

Joker becoming attracted to her after she started controlling the sexbot felt a bit cheap. Platonic love between orb EDI and Joker would've been much more interesting to me.

And the poor Shepards who wanted Joker as an LI get a dagger to the heart.

This.

EDI is a horrible character. Absolutely despise her. She has zero use in the plot and in gameplay. Made destroy all that much sweeter.

EDI is one of the best characters of ME3. Her jokes still pwn.
Though after ending I had a feeling, that all the questions she asked (human behaviour, life etc.) were forced in to make synthesis more attractive and destroy heart-breaking.

I liked EDI in ME2, when she was a ship.

In ME3 she became a sex robot who needs relationship advice on how to get her man to commit, how to please her man, etc. She does everything short of bake a pie for Joker to fulfill every 1950s submissive female stereotype. Do Not Want.

Acceptable in ME2, but never trusted it (it's Cerberus AI that just demonstrated that it's capable of killing everyone on board... OK...). It's unfortunate that they forced EDI on us again and cut the distrusting dialogue options.

Yeah, it's better off creating 2 identical topics about it.
Your logic is flawed, indeed.

EDI was my least-favourite ME3 squadmate. Well, it would've been Ashley, but she was already dead.

Fair enough. Although I'm still not sure if it's worth reopening this can of worms. Each to his/her own, I suppose.

Although responding to the OP, I simply ignored EDI's overly-sexualized body, and that actually made her one of my favorite characters. Admittedly, her development is a bit cliched, but there's not a whole lot of things you can do. I'm rather indifferent to the whole Joker and EDI romance subplot; I encouraged it in some playthroughs, separated them in others, just to see differences in dialogue. Still, I enjoyed her transformation from a mere cyber warfare suite to a rather charming, if a little douchey individual.

Hmm. An interesting parallel; I hadn't thought about it that way, although is this really 50'sesque? I mean, it's 2012 and at least half of the magazines they sell at work are about that sort of thing. I would associate that with EDI behing wholly domestic, which she isn't; she's still a warship.
