I know this is going to seem odd, but I would like to see a happy ending.

Hawke and the Warden mysteriously disappeared. I have to pretend that wherever they are, they're happy. But they might not be.

ME3 had a terribly sad ending. Very emotional and had me wiping away the tears and wanting to rip my heart out (so bravo, team!), and yes, ground-breaking in a sense because of that sadness, but still.

Great things can have happy endings! Pride and Prejudice! Bleak House! Anna Karenina! Minus the whole main character-throws-herself-onto-a-railroad-track, but still!

SPOILERS AND BLUNTNESS

- Dramatic moments not being pulled off properly, Leandra's death for example. Where's the sad, depressing music? Why do we get a cheesy GASP from Hawke with cheesy gasp sound effects? Why is Leandra standing there awkwardly wobbling while I fight three waves of enemies? Why am I fighting three waves of enemies instead of one big boss battle with Quentin? Why is Hawke bothering to get back his throwing knife out of a skeleton instead of rushing to Leandra right away?

All these little things add up and can make or break a scene. Mass Effect may not be perfect in this regard either but they're miles ahead of Dragon Age when it comes to dramatic moments.

- The music. I'm not sure if it's Inon Zur or the DA team that is to blame but the music does nothing for me and hasn't improved after two games and an expansion. I could play with the music turned off and it wouldn't change a thing. Again, Mass Effect miles ahead yada yada yada...

- Friendship/Rivalry metagaming. Now that I'm familiar with the game (and with the help of DA wiki) it's not a problem but I seriously have to wonder how newcomers don't struggle with this. I myself missed out on finishing the Fenris romance on my first playthrough because I struggled (and failed) to reach 100% friendship.

Solution: Lock Friendship/Rivalry in one direction when it gets to 50%.

Am I allowed to say I am tired of absolutely nothing in Dragon Age?

I'm tired of Ferelden and Fereldans. If DA3!protag is another Fereldan...

...well, I'll still buy it. But it'll be super lame.

You're incredibly lucky then Tommyspa. Despite all my complaining, I really do wish I could say I'm not tired of anything, but playing a human noble really did get old after a few hours. I can live with a lot of flaws in role-playing games as long as I'm allowed to role-play.

Ferelden, Morrigan/Flemeth/Godbaby/Red Lyrium/ANCIENT EVIL's story, Grey Wardens and annoying references.

Ferelden was fine for the first trip and fine for the second, though I certainly desire more variety in protagonists. Orlesian, Antivan, Nevarran, ect. Anything new.

---

I have no interests at all in the MAGIX of the universe, I loved the first DA:O for it's political influences but didn't care much for the elements of mystical influence throughout. Awakening did good in making the Darkspawn threat "human" but still, it'll take a while to humanise red lyrium / god baby / ect so it isn't just some ambigious evil. More humanity, less fantasy pls.

---

Grey Wardens worked in DA:O, though all the mentions of them having a crucial part in what's going on is heavily bothering me. We're done with the Wardens, they've stopped the Blight and the order is supposed to die down afterwards, rather than become somehow involved even more.

---

"Swooping is bad" is notable (though there's more) as an annoying reference to DA:O which keeps popping up everywhere. We get it, you made a reference to Alistair's original quote, you can stop now that we've heard it multiple times.

No, put down that pen, we don't need to hear it another three times.

Preachy Mages. In DA:O we had Wynne and in DA2 we had Anders, can we just not have a mage with a message for DA3? No Wynne I don't care what you think it means to be a Grey Warden. No Anders I don't care about the mages' plight, it has nothing to do with me and your constant moaning does not engender sympathy. Could we just have mages like Morrigan and Merril who are content just doing their thing and don't feel the need to nag us into participating.

Pointless Cameos. Simple rule if they aren't even remotely related to the main story we don't need to see any of the DA:O, A, or 2 crew. Seriously this really pissed me off in DA2. If you're going to have them in the game please do it for a better reason than it let's you go, "Hey look who it is." and then shove them off stage for the next one.
\\
That's all I got for now but I recently started playing DA2 again so I'm sure I'll think of more.

Being forced to play as a human. It got really old, really fast. I'm ready for race options back, Bioware.

(Also, all the game features and designs that apprently came from Mass Effect. This is not Mass Effect. This is Dragon Age. Let it be Dragon Age.)

I agree with being forced to play human is... boring to say the least. However, i would be shocked if this wouldn't be the case in DA3 since BioWare insist on using a voiced protagonist. And i can't imagine a voice that would fit with human, elves and dwarves. Heck, i couldn't even play a human male mage in DA2 because the voice is, in my opinion, to butch for a mage.

I also agree regarding the Mass effecting of Dragon Age 2. Don't get me wrong; i love Mass effect but i want Dragon Age to focus more on RPG. Even the drinking animation of Isabella is EXACLY the same as Shepard.

I hate no end to what our main PCs are doing, just leave us in limbo...just really makes you mad after all the games and dlc that had these Pcs in them and still left in the air as to what happend to them. Then you have to start a new game with a new character to find that even now your 3rd character will face the same left in limbo state, thats so wrong and it makes it like your in a good book and half way into it, it ends and nothing is put to rest...no more of this. The way you make games is like the Warden and Hawke would carry over but you don't and yet you want us to buy new games with a new character that will by in large face the same kind of fate..no thanks and no more.

-Memes in dialogue. Read them enough on the internet, don't really want to hear them within video games.
-Awkward transitions in companion background dialogue. Varric and Isabela should not be sharing fanfiction after something really bad happens.
-Repetition of voice actors. Sebastian's VA was used often enough that I noticed it and began to grow annoyed.
-Not being able to talk to companions whenever I want to.
-Pleasing/Rivaling Isabela. I hope they don't don't do anything like this again. The entire first act of DA2 is pretty much the Please/Rival Isabela game. Assuming you want to keep her, which I do.
-Deaths. If you're going to do this at least make me care about the character. I felt nothing when the sibling died in the beginning, nor did Leandra's death have much emotional significance.
-Cameos for the sake of cameos. If they appear, make them relevant.
-Agreeing on the blood mages. Give me that force or entropy mage.

I have not played this game in 5 months and I'm planning on doing it sometime but I don't know yet when. Why don't you give that a try,
