Okay i admit i knew nothing about Kai Lang accept that he was from a mass effect novel. I see alot of people pissed on how he was portrayed as a cyborg ninja rather than a assassin. So i was wondering how did u guys imagine Kai Lang to be? Maybe something similar to agent 47? lol

I didn't mind kai lang's portrayal, It seemed to match him close enough to my liking. However there are area's where he could be improved.

Basically, think of a pure renegade shepard who didn't have funny lines.

I expected him to be more of some super assassin with cybernetics who flips around while firing his SMG at Shep with occassional smoke grenades and cloaking. And be dangerous in CQC by swinging his omni blade and/or knife at Shepard.

I also though he lost his cool way to easily. The email, him shouting "shut up" when Shepard taunted him, instead of being a calm and controled assassin he was petty and childish. Even with reaper uprgrade he was stopped by a sick drell, and wouldn't have taken Shepard on Thessia if it wasn't for his plot armor and gunship, he just came off as incompitent to me.

I was fine with Kai Leng. I was just hoping we would get a one on one epic showdown with him. Instead we got Shepard and his squad vs Kai Leng with some gunship support and Shepard and his squad vs Kai Leng with a bunch of Cerberus grunts. Why no epic Shepard vs Kai Leng confrontation? I thought he was fine as a character, but gameplay wise the fights were lacking.

Actually I would have liked him to be silent at first, and as shepard continues to win against him he begins to slowly unravel. So it's only at the near end of the fight does he start monolouging and screaming.

That's just my opinion though.

Leng was sent to prison for murdering a Krogan in a bar with nothing but a service blade. I think he was pretty accurately portrayed in the game. He seemed to me like a very talented assassin but was xenophobic and quick to lose his cool. He didn't stand a chance against Shep from the moment he was born. He's easy to hate, but I don't think he was a "cliche" like many do. Space ninja jokes aren't that funny. If you are talented enough with a blade, space marines in power armor would be easy pickings.

It's desinged to activate only with high velocity targets, like todays body armor. And much like todays body armor it has a major flaw of being vulnarable to things that don't slam into targets but slice into them, like knives and blades.

Thats why bullet proof vest are not stab proof and need to be made stabbing prood through specialized manufacturing processes.

Considering you can beat him by simply pistol whipping him with the shock mod, he ain't that special, sword or no sword.
As for what he should have been; i'd say he should have been an infiltrator with a suped up cloak, and at very least used a smg, or a heavy pistol not a hand cannon. Getting up close every so often to fight using melee.

He was cool in the books...But I felt in game...I don't know how to describe it..he wasn't the same character. Also I really wasn't intimidated by him..just annoyed...
His email..that was silly, the Kai Leng in the books wouldn't do that nonsense..I suddenly felt I was back in elementary school.
