On all my playthroughs the Red choice is the only one were Shepard begins to breath again or come to life.

So is it the Best choice?

It is the only such choice, yes.

IT people would argue that it is also the best and only good choice.

Non-IT people would say that the best choice is subjective.

I'm a non-IT person and I say it is the only choice.

Any chance the Extended Cut will change this?

It *might*, but there's little to no information on the Extended Cut as it is, just promises of "clarity" and "closure."

Red/Renegade is the more cold and selfish version of Shepard.

The other two choices are for the kind of person willing to sacrifice themselves for the greater good.

As it stands now, yes. High EMS destroy lets shepard survive.

I'm anti-IT and I believe destroy is the only coherent and viable choice to be done.

"The greater good" as being established by an emotionless, synthetic Deus ex Machina "Starchild" who apparently created the Reapers and their cycle of harvest based on what's gotta be the most asinine bulls**t reason I've ever come across for murdering entire civilizations and who every friggin' reason there is to outright LIE to Shepard.... <_<

.... yeah, screw it, Destroy all the way.

Greater good? If the Reapers/Starbrat decide to go back to plan A after a new synthetic lifeform rebels against their synthorganic creators, or if they shake off control (they have tens of millions of years for it to happen, and one Reaper  could be enough). Unlikely to happen because of the writers, but in universe a very real possibility.

The way I see it this is about choosing the lesser evil, and Destroy is the only sure way to defeat the Reapers. If instead of the geth and EDI the sacrifice had been Javik and Asari, the choice would still be the same. And unless from a metagaming perspective, at least it´s not selfish, Shepard is told s/he would die. And without MP <_<, that´s exactly what happens. A sacrifice for all future generations (because the current one and next few ones are screwed anyway - the best scenario I can think of would take at least 2-3 centuries to rebuild galactic society).

 Hold up
The Greater Good?
Seems Legit.
Also Why is this in Gameplay?
Shouldn't this be in Story?
