So...
As I just learned in chmarr's thread about "EARTH" DLC leak -

"Meanwhile, the previously-announced 'Extended Cut' pack has been confirmed to add an "extended epilogue" that elaborates the choices players have made.
"An expanded ending for Mass Effect 3. Additional scenes and an extended epilogue reveal the impact of Shepard's choices on the future of the galaxy."

- the EC will elaborate on the choices Shepard has made and add more scenes. In short Clarification and Closure.

This could still mean that IT is true and that that is what will be clarified and verified, but I still worry, worry that the writing team at Bioware hasn't pulled the most groundbreaking move ever in gaming history, worry that the horrible mess that is the current ending through our eyes and Shepards is in fact THE end.

I worry that I, as a crazy obsessed fan, will be plunged back into the dark abyss of despair and outrage that an ending without IT being true would be.

Please someone explain how the leak-guy is in on keeping IT=true a secret! Give me some hope here!

AND PLEASE BIOWARE let Shepard wake up in London and have a proper epic suicide mission-styled showdown with Harby!!! I love you for giving me the first 2,9 games.

To me Mass Effect > Star Wars

Btw after seeing so many people who in some way can make sense of the ending (after tweaking it as much as IT) i am afraid that Bioware think they will let alot of people down by confirming IT. Sorry

It scares more to me that the DLC leak sounded like:

"TONS OF NEW MULTIPLAYER CONTENT! - oh, yes, and some EC-stuff for SP."

It feels like this person has a source inside the MP studio but we all know that the SP content is done in a different location. So while s/he's been spot on with MP so far, I don't think that adds credability to their SP DLC knowledge. So either:

A) They made up the EC description based on already known information

or

The EC is connected to a MP DLC, so maybe a tiny description of the EC would be tagged to the MP content s/he outlined. It would explain how they got the description but no other details.

They have confirmed that there is no additional game play in EC and no more ending content is planned. I am sorry you got your hopes up - we all did - with IT but it just isn't true nor will it happen. EA rushed Bioware and the finale just wasn't peer-reviewed before implementation. The best thing you can do now is realize that you will be given "context and closure" on the current ending (RGB) and you will hopefully be given the answers to the following issues:
- Why was the Normandy running
- Why were the squadmates there (on the Normandy)
- What happens to everyone
- Why is Shepard back on Earth (Destroy Only)
- Did the Everyone Starve
- What will the Reapers do now (Control/Synth only)
- Where did the Normandy go
- What did my choices even do?
- Rachni
- Council
- Quarian/Geth
- Krogan
- Other

Other than that you will just have to deal with it man...don't feel bad though. There are plenty of other games out there: Witcher 2, Diablo 3, etc

And yes Mass Effect >>> Star Wars

so what we get DLC confirming IT beat the reapers in a cut scene then what? wait for another DLC where we get some game play to beat the reapers. rather them just keep it simple And GIVE US A HAPPY ENDING ME3 would of been grate if the ending wasn't for it's fatalistic and depressing ending.

Don't worry. Bioware is planning something big. IT or not, it should be great. And for me, this proves it.

About the leaks, they may be intentional/controlled leaks from Bioware/EA to keep the fans interested long enough for something. That's why the leaks wouldn't mention anything about IT being true or false.

The Rebellion leak, it said: "Vorcha, Quarian, and Phoenix". This is just vague enough to get people to discuss and try to figure out what phoenix stands for, or why we were getting another pair of quarians. Is 'quarians' just a typo and meant to be 'turians'? Is phoenix code-name for prothean? It keeps people interested, which is exactly what Bioware wants.

You may want to read this. It's a theory of Bioware holding out on a secret DLC ending and it relates to IT.

EDIT: You may remember that Casey Hudson said the ending would not be A, B, or C. He said it would be as complex as the suicide mission if not more-so.

The 'ending' we got was the complete opposite, so we have yet to see the real ending.

@ LazyTechGuy: I hadn't thought about leak-guy being someone working on MP only. He may not know sht about SP. That's a comforting thought.

@JasonSic: I have always hoped that the "something big" in that tweet would mean ME4-big or ME3: Endgame 10 hour expansion or something...

Maybe that is hoping for too much, but that is one way IT would make sense: it wasn't meant to end there. And then there's the thing with a savegame being created ONLY when destroy is chosen.

All they were ever going to do was put in an epilogue.

I was more amazed that they are coming up with more multi-player content. Presumably they are going to pack all the maps together as a lose single-player story and sell it, but who buys Bioware games to play multiplayer??

EA's corporate goal is to bring multiplayer to everything they do.

It aligns with their goals to:
- reduce resale of their console games.
- reduce labour hours
- increase content reuse
- widen their margin

How do I know their goals? It's every corporation's goals when an industry reaches a plateau.

Those of us who are purely story-driven gamers, we don't fit into those goals.
The minute bioware went global corporate their existing fanbase started to fall out of the new bell curve.

All we can do is support the next company to do what Bioware has done... wait for them to sell out to a publisher and repeat the cycle... lol.

Also... exhibit A: Bungie.
They used to make awesome games of all types... and then they became a Halo making machine...
