WTF is wrong with these people?  I also told him TWO MONTHS AGO, someone else who doesn't know about the hydra thing reported me, and someone else, and nothing ever happened.  False report, only hurts that users reputation.

Have you had people do this to you?  I'm irritated.  Sorry had not a good day.  So apologies regarding that.

Alright (A) judging from their post about cheating -- i'm not sure whether or not they would consider this cheating. ( i think the guy was out of line for reporting you without letting you know, first, that it bothered him (what you were doing) © I think you were definitely out of line cussing him out -- unless you were just saying something like "aww man, you gotta pull the stick outta your *ss" which you should have been more careful about because some people get super touchy and (D) if bioware decides to do something, it should AT LEAST be a warning first. that's really kind of a gray area.
Though you say you've been told you've been reported several times before -- maybe you need to re-evaluate your conduct with people in game..... i've never been reported and done plenty of obnoxious stuff in game - but usually it's because i still try to be a nice guy. People don't report nice people when said people do innocuous things like that --- however, they will report an a-hole for just about anything they can think of.

Also - regarding that hydra spot. It's a neat little vantage point --- enemies CAN get you _though there's a couple spots you're relatively safe..... And you really don't help your team by being there... I can see both sides of the argument -- but who's to say you're "not supposed to be there" - i mean, obviously you're not... but "obviously" isn't good enough .... if all you need to do is a well timed roll to get there -- sounds like it's just a tricky spot -- it's not some invisible hole in the map - if you look at the spot you have to do that, and didn't know about the corner spot - you might think "hey - i bet i could roll/jump from point a and land on point b" Sounds more like level design....
(i know i know - you're not supposed to be there -- but i'm just saying - it's kind of a gray area for them to be levelling a ban-hammer without a warning. i think this would be like... one of their tier 3 or tier 4 offenses... maybe they'll send you an email explaining why they're suspending your account for a day or two.

Yeah the AS VAL is amazing. It is pretty much the best gun ever if you need to take out 1 particularly annoying guy, because it is great at all ranges and it shoots extremely fast. The only downside is it has 20-21 rounds per mag and ammo goes fast, so you need to have the Squad Ammo perk on.

I'm usually too busy running/bleeding out to exploit much of anything.  What I'm saying is, things that unbalance the game are more likely to be fixed.  And more likely to bring down the ban-hammer.

Perhaps these things are all leftovers from beta testing, where developers wanted spots to leave their characters during breaks then never removed them.  If it costs too much to retrofit the design, it won't be fixed.  "Attractive nuisance" http://en.wikipedia....isance_doctrine should kick-in if BioWare leaves them unfixed and people wander in, which means to ME that banning shouldn't be involved...

I have wondered about this after the big Ban Wave and Cheating Policy threads.

The Hydra glitch is very slim on the benefits.  However, the fact that if you die you get a free re-spawn at the lz might lead them to classify it as an exploit.  Other than that, running out of ammo, still getting hit by projectiles, can't do objectives, etc. - about the only other real benefit would be being safe from hugs and swords.

I would generally think that until we get word that it's not an exploit, like we did with reload cancel (which I still can't quite get the hang of playing on PS3), I would stay away, just in case.

Its not a cheat, it is an exploit.
Another exploit: carrying two heavy weapons as an infiltrator and still getting 3sec cool-down by cloack+instant-fire+reaload-cancel w/TC cycle.

So if you think the hydra exploit is report-worthy cheat, you should start reporting all the infiltrators who use that trick (probably about 90+%).

What's ironic about this is that the OP was trying to make a point that it's no big deal and in the process has created a thread that is constantly getting bumped to the front of the line for all of BioWare's eyes to see, i.e., let them know the glitch needs to be fixed.

I've done it a couple times but it's not really worth it. It's hard to get to, you can still take damage, you can't duck behind cover to hide yourself, and you can't do objectives from there. I'd rather play with a group of people who are on mics and coordinating as a team rather than try to exploit a glitch.

I'd say the difference here lies in ignorance. I don't play as an infiltrator very often, so the non-cooldown for shooting during a cloak was totally unknown to me until recently. I just thought I picked weapons that allowed me to have a fairly low cooldown. Even if someone was using a Javelin and a Claymore and their cooldown was -200%, one could still argue that they were just totally ignorant of what was going on. It's only an exploit if you choose to exploit it, and it'd be ridiculous to say the OP wasn't choosing to exploit this particular part of the map.

there is a difference between a glitch and a feature. that's like saying "hey you guys. i know this trick to kill everyone on the map!" that would obviously be cheating. "hey you guys. i can use this krysae to kill everything all easy like on gold." obviously not cheating

Do you need the word of the devs to realize a wall hack it's an exploit?

I didn't know this exploit before this thread and I have no interest to know more about it, but it looks like a wall hack from your descriptions. A wall hack would get you banned in any multiplayer server in any game.

You can cover if you get on the stonework on the far left you can move up and down to hide.  It is a lame trick and usually the dinks that camp up there are non-team players because they are really out of place to rez, do objectives or anything else. That is their biggest sin. If they get banned for something I'd not miss any of them. I will say that 100% of the times I've played Gold and gotten that map at least 2 of the team are stationed up there.

I don't get how this is even an exploit. You don't have to do anything except roll off of a ledge. Saying this is an exploit or something against the rules is like saying that staying in the room on W/G/G is an exploit or that standing in the Lazarus Pit on the map is an exploit. You aren't doing anything.
