I was playing tonight with a friend and we were on Wave 9 on Multiplayer and all of a sudden I get this pop up window that says 'your disc is unreadable'. It's not the first time I've gotten this message. I checked the disc and it's flawless. I treat it very carefully as I do all my games. It's happened once before while playing Multiplayer and two times while playing the Single Player campaign with large gaps of time in between. Like weeks on end. Any idea on why this happens? Has this been happening to anyone else?

Yeah it happened to me a few times so far. Literally got it a few minutes ago while playing with my friend so I came to the forums to see if anyone knew what the problem was. For some reason losing 70k credits is a bit annoying

Yeah, it's not a constant problem but it's damn inconvenient when it happens. I tend to forget about it because time passes and I get lost in the game. Then it happens and then I lose some game play on SP or experience and credits on MP.

I have that happen all the time when playing SP on Skyrim or disc 2 on ME3. All my other games work fine, so I don't think it's an issue with my 360.

I went back a month ago and played through ME and ME2 with no problem whatsoever. ME3 is the only game that it happens on. And now that you mention it, it has always been on the second disc. I never thought about that before.

do you have enough spce on your 360's hard drive to install it?
What I do for all the games that I play, I install them to the Hard drive. then delete the ones I don't play, to make room.
Installing to hard drive provides faster load times and a slightly smoother experience while playing...
with the added benifit that discs are less likely to get scratched, and are sometimes still useable if scratched/ or minor damage.
if installed you will still have to have the disc in tray for the "check for disc" that the 360 does.

It's never happened to me so far. And I got it on release.
Honestly, I think your disc drive for your xbox is going bad. It doesn't suddenly fail, it starts slow. Every now and then your xbox will say a certain game is unreadable, and it will happen more often over time until it won't read anything. I've had to purchase two 360s for this exact issue. Is your warranty expired? If not, I would see about getting a replacement NOW (unless you still have like 6 months or more on your warranty) because if the drive IS the issue, it WILL get worse over time, and eventuallywon't work at all.
Also, as others in this thread have mentioned, installing your games to your hard drive is DEFINITELY good idea. Less stress on the drive, improved load times, and keeps your xbox cooler.
