Also SMB3 on the NES is the only real Mario game worth noting. Amazing game that fended off the so called superior 16bit  Genesis for a long time in gameplay quality.

This should be required American History in school. Super Mario Bros. 3 is beyond epic.

Indeed it is, it's the closest a game has come to perfection. That or Doom :D

If only people used this hatred for the people who deserve it... Child molesters, rapists, serial killers, defence lawyers, war criminals. bankers, politicians etc.

Nope, the hatred is used on a games magizine who doesn't like Dragon age, any game that isn't a traditional wRPG and any one who prefers to play a console to a PC.

And who said people on the internet where level headed. ;)

This is the Dragon Age forum, so people talk about Dragon Age and about rating games in general. Mystery solved. I also see no real hatred.

Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes (DS)

Take a look at what game Edge gave 9/10 www.youtube.com/watch

if only Morrowind and Dragon Age were as deep.

Lets see, Mario RPG 3 on the DS got universaly better scores from DAO  as well. Oh oh, you will not agree. That cant be true. A  "kids" game, with no blood, with no 3D visuals, with no "seriousness" that is out on the freakin DS is better than the mammoth masterpiece that the people at Bioware have worked for years?  Call the game police. I  DEMAND  for the Mario RPG 3 to be lowered in score just to make it seem that DAO  is better

If you prefer Super Mario bros arpeegee then you are welcome to it. I prefer a story deeper than saving the mushroom kingdom.

That's not true.  The first SMB was quite revolutionary, and certainly worth noting!  Other notable SMB games include Super Mario World (SNES), Mario RPG (SNES), and Super Mario World 2: 6 Golden Coins (Gameboy).  Good times!

Fine, i admit to SMB1 being noteworthy but i just didn't like it much, and yes i did beat both versions of the worlds.
SMW is ok but it didn't have the same impact as SMB3 in its time.
Mario RPG? didn't play, had no interest at all in it.
6 golden coins was far too easy and short.

Hey Sam-quick question-do you even have the game? I see you don't have the DA:O 'D' symbol under your avatar which suggests that you haven't registered your copy here or you don't own a copy.

I do on PS3. My brother on PC. I got access to both versions. I dont understand what is that have to do with it?

Because I was wondering if you were only here to cause a fuss without actually owning the game. So many trolls out there now-a-days that like to drop into various game forums (any game) because they have had a problem with the publisher in the past or have fun stirring things up.

Thanks for clarifying.  And maybe click that register game link to have full access here.:)

That was hardly the point of my post. You took previously a game from the same format and judged Edge for giving it a 9/10 and thus makes the game better than DAO  which caused you to mock it for some weird reason. Then i come around pointing to a game that it too received universaly better scores than DAO  did and you come around with this?

Make no mistake the point of the matter is what you say. Play what you prefer which is what i have been saying from my very first post yet its only now that you are coming around that notion. What you prefer (or i prefer) is of little value to real quality of each game. I LOVE (worship, adore, revere) the first Kingdom Hearts game yet it received plain "good" reviews across the board. I DONT  GIVE  A  DAMN, i love it regardless which is the point and what you should be doing as well.

Stop going about mocking and judging publications and people that may have a different opinion on the matter especialy when such opinion comes with plausible reasons.

That is your assumption. There have been other mario games of quite some worth and one i particular that was better across the board than SMB3 but that is not the place to discuss this.

In all honesty, Edge Magazine should probably just stop putting numerical scores on their reviews.

1. It would force people to actually read the review and have a more informed opinion of it.

2. It would prevent us from saying "DA:O is only as good as Spaceballs? LOLOLOL!"

Unfortunately, we all see how much attention this particular number is getting them so I doubt they'll do get rid of them. Oh, well. Just another magazine.

Then i read posts like this.

"Same here. I never got any game breaking bugs for Bloodlines and even though there were a few weird happenings in my game, it didn't bother me in the slightest."

I want to put emphasis on "it didn't bother me in the slightest". Do you now see the -difference- between a reviewer and you? What happens if the player DOES get bothered by such problems? I sure did and i did get bothered with DAOs broken combat and non existent exploration as well as its bad voice acting for non and semi-non important characters. Personally i find only Arl Howe, Loghain and Alistair good and believable voice actors. The rest i find them "meh".

 That was just my personal opinion on things, and I wasn't defending or attacking anyone with it. Now you are just getting antsy.

Saying the VOs in DA were, "meh" is really... odd. It doesn't boil down to taste, in the end. There has to be some artistic merit that you have to give. DA has fine VO in it, and I really don't think you can deny that.

There's Wrpgs with great stories and there's Jrpgs that blow those stories out of the water. Let's judge the game by its main genre RPG not where it came from. >_>

Indeed, the Xenosaga trilogy storyline for example was so complex that after several playtroughs i still haven't gotten it completely, not mention Xenogears :D

Dragon age is easy though, save the world from an undead dragon and it's horde of nasty creatures, that kill people because they've nothing better to do.

Xenosaga T_T I still don't understand what the heck is going on half the time and I've played through the triology at least 4 times. T_T

Still I love the combat system in III too bad the rest of the series got cancelled. :(

If you can't "get" the story after several playthroughs then maybe it's a bad story.

Not necessarily. The bits that I do get are quite interesting. Tis just confusing. Bloody time paradox!
